On the road again! Ha! 5 score and another for the road! Free at last, a friendship mended, and another pony freed as well. That's a full sweep! Was quite worried that things would go wrong with the law enforcement, but at least they got away clean. Looking for more excitement to come!

Despite the car incident, indeed another uplifting chapter! Things very well could have gone wrong... In fact, the situation was worse, especially for Nathan, in the first draft. Hyreia and I discussed ways that the three of them could stop Buck's car, and to my surprise, she really liked my suggestion and decided to use that instead. It is a bit uncanny to see that in the finished draft. But I think it does give more of an uplifting effect overall, rather than leaving things in ruin and creating a more complicated situation.

I think I've said this before, but Nathan's fate in the story changed when I formally started fleshing him out and writing him. I still didn't think people would like him as much but they saw a diamond in the rough. The first draft you read was essentially the second version of this event. The first was only in notes and downplayed his role significantly.
In a way, everyone who's ever given me feedback on my story has saved Nathan. <3

I am glad that everyone's feedback has helped! :) I think I also appreciate Nathan more than I would at first have thought. And it seems that many who have read so far see a bit of themselves or their friends in Nathan. <3
(I might like to hear what the first version was, if you have the time.)
well first i am surprised to see the five score story line still going.
this is a good story and for the most part is holding true to the over all story line.
if you have questions about story line or just time line facts give me a PM hyreia as i know a few of the long time authors vary good and can get you in touch with them ..

Um. Thank you Hartsfire! I'd like to think I'm pretty well informed on the timeline though? To my knowledge, my story's timeline is technically faithful to the updated timeline; the timeline that the Mature version and the book printing are using.
That being said, my story intentionally gets vague about what day it is as time goes on and there's at least one moment where you could add more days as needed. And if you're willing to mentally pad it out yourself ("they stayed here X extra days") it wouldn't affect the story. In the same way, the original story doesn't line up with its own timeline, hence why the dates in the update of the original story are changed!
Originally I outlined the story for the old timeline so when I saw the revision I decided to make it fit the new one but blur and obfuscate a few things so that it works for both! (It fits the original fic's timeline as well as the original fic does.) For example, my story doesn't mention how many seasons of the show there are or when the show stopped airing. This *crunch* has made each day a little busier but it should fit! I made charts!
If I'm mistaken, like you could point something out, please let me know! Maybe I made a mistake or I should clear something up! Either way I'd love to talk about it! Thank you for reading! There's more in pipeline!

if you are basing solely from the time line that TS has laid out then the show stops at season 5.
but if you are going to pull from other story's (i know of 2 that are still being up dated) then the time line goes on to include season 9.
that is all up to the author and there style of story telling.
as i stated this story is vary good and i am stoked to see a story that is not driving me nuts with spelling and wording.
keep up the good righting and pony on.

Pony on, Harts Fire!
Ah! Five seasons vs nine! That's another weird thing. In the 'revised' version of Five Score Divided by Four it's nine seasons now. I don't care for this change myself, but it's there now in the Mature/Printed version. It's an easy detail to circumvent though. "Last season" (Fifth? Ninth?), "Ended a while ago" (a year? Five years?)
I recently made an edit or two (last week?) that fixed a tell about how many seasons are in this story recently (I mentioned how many hours it would take to watch all the episodes). Either way, it doesn't strongly anything in anyone's story I think.
Thank you for the kind words! More updates soon hopefully! We're getting to the really fun stuff now!
I still don't like Nathan for his rape attempt, but I'm glad that he realized what he did was wrong and helped the heroes to escape. Hope he'll be okay as long he won't try to pull anything like that again. I wouldn't have forgiven him so easily in Berry's place though.

I understand. He tried to do something absolutely terrible. He shouldn't necessarily be forgiven as easily but he's trying to make it right.
I'm always fascinated with how people interpret Nathan. Some see him as immediate trouble, some are more forgiving. He's one of my favorite characters because of all these different reactions.
Ah, you know you gotta have the influence from Life and Times of a Winning Pony. It's practically mandatory at this point with Cloud Kicker!
