Average brony obsessing over the main cast with an unhealthy desire to see them in a dark fantasy setting.

:ajsmug: I think now is a time when we all need something like this. Glad you liked it.

So true. Just remember that while what we're going through most likely won't be over very soon (and may well get worse before it gets better, especially here in the U.S.), no storm like this lasts forever and we (the people, the local and state governments, the health officials and experts) are doing all we can to weather this and hold it off. And it's not as totally bad as we think. While the cases are huge and the deaths are pretty big, over 80,000 people the world over have recovered, testing (while a still a bit slow) has ramped up with other people, not just government people, helping to provide more things needed (I read online about a Chinese billionaire who recently sent 500,000 kits and 1 million masks (which we need most of now)) to the U.S. and plans to give just as much to other affected countries.) Plus, quite a few vaccines are being put through clinical trials, one even starting yesterday. Finally, know that many will recover with the proper taking care of themselves. So practice CDC guidelines, don't panic and stress buy (Trump is right about that at least; I work at a store and it's very hectic there now), practice social distancing, keep away from work or anyone elderly or with medical conditions already if you feel sick, call if you match with any symptoms (as I said, testing, while slightly slow is ramping up according to numbers), and most of all, do not panic. I admit, I'm a bit guilty of that and I'm a bit like AJ's son :twilightblush:, but I really should remember that like any storm, this will pass. And it will be better if you have family and friends supporting you through this.

God bless all and stay healthy and safe and thank you for this great story to help us through this 🤗.

Really needed to hear this. This was sweet.

An ear flicked up, then down, then up again. Brows furrowed, he shook his head. “Ah… don’t think so?”

Whiskey flicked an ear up, then down, then up again. He then furrowed his brows and shook his head. "Ah...don't think so?"

Ears alert and a smile creepin’ up his face, he said, “Can we make tacos?”

Whiskey's ear flicked alert and a smile crept up his face as he asked, "Can we make tacos?"

I like the theme of hope for better days after hard times. It's something that everyone inevitably has to endure through at some points in our life. The only nitpick I could make for this story are the names of Applejack's children and husband (Fin and Gin). I would recommend providing a clause or an introductory sentence as to who is who, but since they do not serve a major factor in this conversation between Applejack and Whiskey, it could be left ignored.

Regardless, this was a nice reading. 👍

This kind of reminds me of the end of that John Henry cartoon, which is a plus for me!

I tried and failed to find the full version of the scene, but it basically goes like this: John's wife is telling their son the story of how his father gave them a place to call home when the child is frightened by some thunder. His mother just says, "no need to be afraid, the storm is rolling away. And that's just the sound of your papa, driving steel in heaven." Which leads into this:

It’s always very specific, that rain. It doesn’t leak in clear weather, it doesn’t even leak in other seasons, but on stormy days like today, the rain always finds a way. I let out a sigh and a few words escape my lips.

"The window she is broken and
the rain she's pouring in.
If someone doesn't fix it soon,
I'll be soaked right through my skin!"

"But if we wait a little while
the rain will go away.
And who would need a window
on such a sunny day?"
Manana (Peggy Lee) Big hit 70 years ago. A white girl couldn't release a song like that today....racist, implying Mexicans are lazy.
