So we replaced Twilight tailing Pinkie to our Luck Dragon and Radio Buck's not-a-date? It was hilarious. I approved.

We do have something in mind for Feeling Pinkie Keen but I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, we had a lot of fun writing it.
Lion King Musical?
To see, or not to see, that is the question.
Very nice Biodome, though the SCP really needs work on its personal personel interactions. Given critically endangered considerations, how often have they tried to get Spike in there?
I'm interested in pony version of lion king, might make a good chapter. They could go as a group and compare it to earth lion king.

I didn't make the connection to the SCP Foundation while we wrote it. Now I can totally see it and that both bothers and intrigues me.
10264032
To be honest, I love the fact it's a (unintentional) reference to SCP foundation pretty much, but I Really do hope sunbutt pays a visit with Alastor and Lorraine because that was pretty bad

Deer Boi and Noodle Dragon are old fashioned to some extent (Alastor moreso than Lorraine), so yeah an organisation that runs a complicated dating app to achieve it's goal is going to trigger their flight response.
It was fun figuring out how to write that scene as the organisation isn't evil, just not what the characters are comfortable with. Writing this chapter as a whole was just fun!
Celestia popping in to check on everyone might not be a bad idea.

Good to hear and you're welcome for the idea! Look forward to more from you guys!

Thank you for enjoying the story!
Except it wasn't fake, it was real. The whole point of it is obviously to corce her to develop romantic feelings for him and be seduced, when from the beginning he hasn't actually taken no for an answer. This is why I don't like him, he hasn't actually improved or changed and is pursuing her because of a maddened infatuation with her.
The fact that he just goes back to the flirtatious "Oh yeah baby I like you, date me" thing to wear down her resistance until she does what he wants takes away the legitimacy. It also says he doesn't love or care about her, he just wants her and they will end up together because he forced her to want it instead of it being real.

Dude it wasn't a real date, it was them fucking with Twilight, Spike, and Gilda. Then they forgot about them, because they were having fun. They're just two people, having fun, and going around town.
Also character development doesn't happen immediately, some changes need catalysts for change.
Also, it's Alastor, he's going to go from a snarky asshole to a slightly less snarky asshole, especially when he's around people he care's about.
10265178
Its that he DID seem like he had developed some, but then went right back to square 1. And the reason for their "Not a Date" is why it does seem like a date, to make her date him and justify it with an excuse, rewarding him for his initial bad behavior of not taking no for an answer. Basically, he genuinely seems like he is a bad person and him being nice is just a front.
10265178
Your missing the whole point of his comment...the "date" may have been fake to Lorraine, but Alastor was using that as an excuse to go all out and work on seducing her into liking him. At least that's how its perceived.
10265269
But... He wasn't.
10265243
10265269
I will say this right now, and I'm going to be as blunt as possible, this was not some scheme to get into Lorraine's proverbial pants. This was quite literally two people spending the day together, having fun. This isn't some subtle manipulation tactic by Alastor.
Dragon and I were just having fun with this chapter. None of this is malicious intent. Alastor is going to get some serious character development, we're just not there yet.
10265282
I understand what your saying, just saying that from a readers point of view, that's not what it looks like. Like the old saying goes, Its not what you say but how you say it and how it can be percieved.
10265243
Alastor literary stated that he forgot about the "date" and got caught up in sharing his love of plants. The original reason for their day out was just a day out but since Twilight and Spike stuck their noses into the pairs business, Alastor and Lorraine decided to some fun while they were being followed around and just stopped caring after a bit and just enjoyed one anothers company, as friends do.
10265290
Not really. You could definitely see how they wrote alastor quite happily being engaged in explaining plants and knowledge, but he wasn't brushing against her or trying to say smooth as fuck words. Hell, he wasn't saying anything, he was just talking about plants! Like yeah he was.showing off his knowledge low-key but, why do people have to assume that when a guy is showing off to a date, it obviously means he wants to get them aroused so he can fuck them?
10265290
Alastor's reactions to Lorraine having fun are genuine, believe you me, he hasn't done much in the way of ploys when Lorraine herself would flat out reject him, assuming his advances didn't go over her head and assuming John didn't get pissed at him. Look at Lorraine's reaction to when the idea of her and Alastor courting was first suggested, she's against the idea, she still is. She sees Alastor as a friend, regardless of his infatuation with her and she's trying to help him because she's stuck with him.
I honestly wonder if we're being too subtle?
10265308
You're not being too subtle at all. :D
10265319
People seem to not realize that Alastor is trying to not be a dick to Lorraine and John but he doesn't really care about anyone else unless those two call him out on his behavior.
Which hasn't happened yet.
10265329
Exactly!! Like it makes sense and it's.pretty.upfront to me, considering how he treats others. XD
10265282
I understand that, which is why I said why it seemed like that so you could avoid people getting thr entirely wrong idea about whatever is going on later. Basically, him going back to being flirty revisits his initial bad impression and colors what happens after in a negative light.
10265358
So having that personality where you throw in a flirt here or there makes you an ill intentioned person?
10265358
I don't understand the issue. Alastor has moments of trying to empathize with Lorraine but that isn't something he's used to. He's used to doing whatever he wants with very few individuals able to stop him. So long as he doesn't break any laws topside or piss off Lorraine and John he can do as he pleases, which means that he's as much a nuisance as he can get away with.
I honestly don't know what else I can say without spoiling the story. If you don't care about spoilers, PM Me.
Do they ever get any extra residents with a pitch like that? Because damn, that was tactless.
10265765
Lol.
The sales pitch may appeal to some but certainly not to our cast of characters. It was interesting writing it though, we wanted it to be blatant marketing but not in a way that screams "corporation is evil". The marketing for the Canterlot Division appeals to pony sensibilities to satisfy nobles and the occasional tourist.
10265765
I mean if the potential resident is drunk enough...
Yay
Let's hope so
Like I legit came for some trashy love thing, and now I am so invested, even though there is no trashy love thing. Good on ya!
