I am into history, whether it be on warfare or maritime disasters. Also a Titanic enthusiast excited for Titanic Honor and Glory.

The White Star Line remains today one of the most remembered shipping companies, for all the right and wrong reasons. Most notably, the sinking of the Titanic. What would happen if the Titanic sank but was transported to Equestria but no one knew that happened until it arrived in Manehattan two days later. Would the ship and its passengers ever return home?

Well there goes one story Idea I had.

Mine wasn’t the Titanic thought but a new ship vanishing in the Bermuda triangle. The Cruise liner with about 6000 people sailing into Manehattan a few days later.

Great minds think alike? Well it was something I had on the back burner. I got the story I’m posting now and a sequel to do before I was going to start. No worries I have something on the back burner I can do instead.

I look forward to what you write.

Why thank you. And I am also sorry for stealing your thunder. This story was actually something I wrote in a few days to keep my mind off my other elaborate tale of humans in Equestria. The last chapter I wrote on it nearly caused me to drop that story but now I am simply going to alternate so I don't get an aneurysm.

10018246
It no problem. That project would be a long way off if I still do it. Something I was thinking of more then committed to doing. Haven’t thought past the first two chapters nothing beyond meeting Celestia.

I have a something else that has more in way of plot to do.

Now this is very interesting, kind of an Eric Flint business, yes? I look forward to seeing where this leads.

10018270
In a sense, it sorta is. Glad you like it!

Alright, just wondering.... who disliked it. I wanna know why so I can improved it.

More please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Titanic sinks, and reappears in Equestrian waters? With all the people on board?

You have my interest, and likely my attention.

Okay, very wierd.... appearently I was banned from the discord.

So everyone who was on the ship also got brought over? That makes it interesting how they are going to take this sudden change of events. Now I wonder if the ponies will find all the flaws in the ships design and it's critical lack of lifeboats?

If you read closely, take note to what Phillips and Bride said as they were making their way through Scotland Road:

"I did, and I am a bit worried about him... I would not be surprised if for the rest of his voyage he pours over his designs and the good doctor O'Loughlin will have to be summoned to get that man to even eat. But lets just focus on the task at hand now..."

So take it as something that we may see in the future.

An interesting concept. You do seem to know the history of the Titanic and have an appreciation for the details. I will be tracking this.

Be advised that there are a number of spelling and grammatical errors, but nothing too bad.

This reminds me of this documentary from years ago.

It'll be interesting to see how this story continues. Though I need to ask why you decided to include those who survived?

There's also a story, which I wonder if it may be apocryphal, about one Able Seaman, Albert Horsewell (or Horsewill) who was on Lifeboat Number 1. The Dove-Gordon family on the boat offered the crew £5 to save their lives. Nobody's quite sure whether this was just greed, saying, "I'll give you £5 if you save my life!" or whether it was a thank you because their lives were saved. But whatever the result, the crew themselves were in terrible trouble for accepting a bribe. So, when Albert got home, he went to see his mother, who slammed the door in his face and never spoke to him again, because she was ashamed that he'd taken a bribe.

Story looks promising, but I doubt Luna would call them 'men' as she doesnt know what we are yet

I don't intend to have those who sruvived stay in our world. Especially what they experienced in their later years. Look at Ismay for example, he saved lives and got in a lifeboat truly at the last second when no other passengers were around. He should be branded as a hero but we still see him as a coward that William Randolph Hearst's media monopoly portrayed him which influenced today's conceptions about him. Lightoller made his own mistakes especially when he only loaded women and children into the lifeboats. I like to see this as redemption for all of those that were on the ship.

10018447
Oh crap where did I write that so I can fix it.

10018470
'and even the men working below to keep the ships lights on... I saw all of it.'

10018476
Thank you. The story of Ismay always pisses me off now adays for how we brand him.

10018482
As a fan of film history I could say the same thing about Roscoe Arbuckle. Hearst exploited and exaggerated his scandal too, later claim he sold more newspapers than any event since the sinking of Lusitania .

10018492
To be blunt, Hearst was a manipulative jackass.

10018469
Will Ismay, Smith and Andrews realize the mistakes that led to the Titanic's destruction? Namely, the faulty structuring of the bulkheads for Andrews, the ignored iceberg warnings for Smith, and the dangerous speed for Ismay?

10018920

I'd wager they pick up on it pretty gorram quick, what with that dream inspiring them to second-guess their assumptions.

10018920
Ismay is already guilt ridden if you looked closely at the seen where Lightoller is at the bridge. Andrews from what Bride and Phillips can tell is actually quite shaken up from the disaster and they figure he would probably be in his room doing designs and at the moment, Smith is just wishing to get to "New York" without any problems so he is bound to be cautious. Now, let's remember that when that Ismay did tell Smith to speed up but everything was still in Smith's hands, especially in the Ice Field. Plus, the warnings from the iceberg should had been taken seriously by the officers and even the wireless operators. If you recall, Phillips told the Californian to shut up but he had some good reason to do so. Little know fact, which I surprisingly got from a video done by Titanic Honor and Glory (one of the only trusted sources for Titanic facts as they work with valid historians) was during the middle of the voyage, the "state of the art" Marconi machine actually broke down and Bride and Phillips spent hours repairing it and missed many messages from Cape Race (the main telegraph post for messages across the north Atlantic) and essentially were playing catch up at the time that the Californian warned of ice. I won't go into the Californian debate as that is another topic. Now with the bulkheads and lifeboats, I am going to just refresh my research as I forget the cause for the lower bulkheads and I will need to re-read a certain part of "On a Sea of Glass". But uh, simply put... mistakes made with the ship shall be revised.

10018946
I mean, they already have picked up on it quite quickly. I explained how in the my other comment.

10018972

Essentially a perfect storm of errors, yes? Disasters such as these rarely hinge on any one mistake, they're a team effort.

My thoughts after I finished chapter 1:

You have my interest, I will follow on this one...

10020249
Thank you. Next chapter should be out tomorrow, my break day was today.

So sorry for the wait. I know that it should had been out yesterday but other things took precedence. Should be done today.

I wonder how long it will take for Mr. Ismay to realize the design flaw of the ship?

Truly a fascinating story, your technical knowledge is excellent.

Great work keep it up

Haven't read the story yet.

A number of prominent fictional characters were on the Titanic including Doug (from the TV show "Time Tunnel"), one of the Bellamys (from "Upstairs/Downstairs"), & a gang of Coloradoans being pursued by murderous rivals (Clive Cussler's novel Raise the Titanic)

10023251
I think the intention is for this story to include only historically accurate crew and passenger.

I wonder if we will get a glimpse of the Countess of Rothes. Her survival story is actually very interesting, taking charge of her lifeboat and steering, while encouraging the women to row the boat.

10023211
It is not Ismay but Andrews who realizes the design flaws. Read closely and you will see characters commenting about it.

10023251
There was another show that had 2 fictional characters travel to the titanic in the 80s. I think it was Voyagers. That one pissed me off with how they portrayed Ismay as a coward dressing in women's clothes to get into a lifeboat.

10023313
Thank you for reminding me of the good countess. I was gonna add Molly Brown in the later chapters but this just makes it better!

10023251
Oh, also... didn't realize it but John Williams composed the Time Tunnel soundtrack. Very interesting.

10023328

Oops they where so close together I got them flipped. I wonder when he will tell the senior staff what he has discovered?

Also will you be addressing the theory that the Titanic had a coal fire in one of the bunkers or do you feel there isn't enough evidence to address it? I get the feeling that they are going to have trouble getting into port once they approach the mainland.

Titanic has always been one of my Favorite ships, with it tied for First place with the USS Enterprise from WW2.
