To be completely honest, I’d love to more interaction between Rainbow, her family, and Scootaloo and Rumble. I feel like in the Broken and the Damned it’s a bit glossed over, and this story is the perfect one to dive a bit deeper into them as characters.
The romance was nice in my opinion.

Personally speaking I always found Starlight's backstory for villainy to be childish at best and idiotic at worst. Seriously she's one of the MOST OVERPOWERED characters on the franchise and she's just a unicorn. She has LITERALLY no reason to be sooo powerful. Your telling me that a unicorn whose power surpasses an ascended allicon who literally represents magic itself couldn't get in the school for gifted unicorns when FREAKING sunburst got accepted due to his Knowledge in Spells alone, despite the fact he cannot perform any of the. How did he even get into the school any way, Twilight had to hatch a Dragon egg, and she barely was able to due it until she got a rainboom fueled adrenaline boost. Your telling me he accomplished a similar feat despite never showing any abnormal levels of magical power even in adulthood. What should have happened was he left for the school and then returned a week later crying because LITERALLY everyone else could actually perform the basic requirements to attend. Also why did he never bother to write back to her. Seriously all of this could have been avoided if the had just bothered to pick up a Freaking quill at sent a letter.
Rant aside let's she how this goes.
