This was a neat little fic you have here. Quiet, introspective. Sad but with a happier ending. It was good.
This might not be what you'd intended, but the repetitiveness of Fiddlesticks being stuck in a pattern, plus her sleep issues, could stem from depression brought on by her abandonment issues. Biggest criticism I have is that it's a bit repetitive. And that it's a bit too short.
As someone who's dealt with these issues before (abandonment and mental health issues), it felt...odd that someone would just be able to decide upon such a huge life changing event like that without really thinking of the logistics of it. Which you did touch upon of course, but it still felt rather abrupt. To me at any rate.

Yeah, I can understand that. Especially because this isn't a fully flushed out lifestory of a character but just a one-shot. It's hard to make empathy and a character that's never been named in the show.
