Crystal ponies have discovered a structure far below the ice near Mount Everhoof. With little knowledge of what it is, Princess Cadence calls out to Twilight Sparkle and all her friends for help. But what they find will change Equestria forever and send our heroes on an adventure as they have never been on before.
Please note that this story has nothing to do with my last story I did with Space Battleship Yamato. Once again this story will follow the canon events from Space Battleship Yamato 2199. Many of the places that will be featured are from the Beyond Equestria map drawn up by Deviant Art user KeenKris and I do have his permission to use the map.

Question: How well do I have to know Space Battleship Yamato to enjoy this? The only real knowledge I have I got from Super Robot Wars V (fantastic game btw) and that's to say it isn't much but this still sounds interesting.

Holy exposition dump Batman, I get that you're going for filling in newcomers to the Yamato 2199 franchise but going play-by-play through every major story beat plus original history does not feed smoothly narratively speaking.
I'm eager for more Yamato content, so I'll follow it, but ease up on the accelerator please
