As someone who's built a disco ball, the patterns aren't because someone drew lines on a silver ball, they're because the ball is made up of hundreds of mirror pieces. This is necessary otherwise the light being reflected would be too diffuse (even with a perfect shine) that it wouldn't create the dots effect. Yeah Andy's trying to hombrew one the best he can with his lack of size. I havent tested this out myself but making a separation with marker and the tinfoil acting as mirrors makes enough sense to work. Also what makes you say that he isn't hiding his body snatching?

Dunno, it just feels like one wouldn't suddenly try to throw a party on a whim like be he is, especially given the standoffish reactions he's received from nearly everyone. It's a social cue when someone is suspicious. He picked up on it (man everyone thinks I'm a jerk!) but decided to ignore his strange how behaviour is to others and just wing it. 🙃
