Dragonfire, a confident mercenary mare, takes her wasteland life as it comes. Little does she know that she is more special than she had realised—so much so that somepony lurking in the shadows has been waiting for her for a long time.
As places go, the Western Wasteland was a good place to grow up with my father-- a ghoul blacksmith who taught me to forge, to fight... But he never told me what he did pre-war, why I'm a hippogriff, or what my life was like before he found me.
It has been nearly two hundred years since the megaspells rained fire down on the world, reducing it to a tainted wasteland. And ever since that day, the changelings have never been sighted in the wasteland...
In a sense I already did. Though the perspective was more set during the aftermath of the first megaspell and the mopping up of the surrounding area outside the city taking ques from the Hurtgen forest campaign the tail end of the Stalingrad when the German army had been completely surrounded. The battle in the city itself was already done by someone else so I saw no need to delve into it.

Oh, wait... I got an idea. What if you write an entire chapter about the famous "Battle of Stalliongrad" (Referencing the "Battle of Stalingrad").
