Neat world building, a decently unique environment and a really strange faction. I have two questions though, what happened to the mare from the prologue? And what is Red's SPECIAL score now?

Yew?
When her mom heard gunfire, she grabbed the kids and fled.
The family planned that anybody on guard would try to protect the house and buy enough time for everyone else to get away.

He used to be a smart sneaky boy.
Not as much anymore.

Oh, I realize now that I misread it.

"The raider grinned, enjoying my weak attempts to stay alive, and pointed to the wagon. I walked there, hopped inside, and found the box of manacles. One of the other raiders, a mare with bulging neck muscles, clamped the manacles onto my hooves and locked them tight against my fear taught muscles."

This part in the prologue, I read it as if they already had one captive and was hoping she would be the first companion.

My mistake.

accidentally ruining a Stable dweller's life.

You know, to me that makes it sound like Littlepip is going to appear in this story... Will that happen?

Little early for that.

The story takes place about 50 years after the megaspell exchange and I think Littlepip leaves the Stable about 150 years later.

These monstrosities of ponies remind me why my pony OC is a strong proponent of machine guns and artillery. Because they sound positively absurdly resilient.

A lieutenant colonel pegasus ghoul is in charge? Now it gets interesting, although I get the strong impression that for a pseudo-military group they are really disorganized and don't really know what they are doing.

Ironically, regular soldiers might be more practical and effective than these brutes. That said, it is very in line with Fallout and Fallout Equestria. Heck, I did write a similar project for super soldiers through dragon hybridization.

Yeah, there's a reason why a .50 cal bolt action is standard issue for the officer caste.

Right to it, then. I appreciate a story that wastes no time getting the reader into its premise. Concision and attention to detail too. It's a solid opening chapter, that's for sure.

These raiders are a strange bunch of characters. That and the main character seems oddly calm about everything, almost as if this were routine. I'm still inclined toward the tone.
