Closed Circuit is Ponyville's public radio evening news broadcaster on the show, Welcome to Ponyville.
He reports on the strange events happening around town: bizarre and unexplained lights, unknowable things, the supernatural, the super supernatural, the extra super-duper natural, and the unnatural; all of which, of course, exist. The City Council confirmed it must exist; it's the law!
So beware, ponies, of changeling infiltrators, and worship the sun.
This is kind of based on and written in the style of the Welcome to Night Vale podcast.

It feels like the first broadcast of night Vale with mlp words tossed in. The idea could be fun but the extra night Vale weird feels forced on top of the weird of mlp

And was holding back from the crazier Night Vale stuff. But I'll try to balance it out in the next chapter. I figured Ponyville was a town where strange enough stuff happens... but maybe it can't be done. This is an experimental fanfic.

Reading it again it feels very disjointed, rather then the more standard NV structure of an A and B story with to quote the cast 'some high concept prose sections'.
Breaking episode 1 down Closed Circuit could start by telling about the summer sun celebration with interviews with various ponies involved, Twilight becomes the stranger that comes to town talking about ancient conspiracies. That more keeps the style of NV without lifting so many direct lines which really pulled me out of the story
