This story is a sequel to A Sleepy Conversation

Diamond Tiara wasn't like most schoolfillies. Her favorite part of the day wasn't recess. It wasn't passing notes back and forth between friends. It wasn't even picking on other ponies (though admittedly, it had been at one point.) Her favorite part of the day was when she could go home and work on her homework in the solace of her room. Of course, on today of all days, Mrs. Cheerliee had to go and ruin that. Diamond Tiara is now forced to team up with a certain white unicorn for her next homework assignment. On top of that, their homework is to talk to other ponies about their jobs!

And just why does the topic of cutiemarks always have to come up?

Great start on this latest installment of your "Pinkiverse" series. Loved the alternate details concerning Diamond and Silver, as well as Diamond's first OFFICIAL meeting with Sweetie Belle and the duo going to talk to Rarity for their school assignment. All in all, good job combining elements of "Cutie Mark Chronicles" with VERY minor elements of "Call of the Cutie", but still keeping the story mostly original.

All in all, the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are all wonderfully done and I'll definitely be looking forward to both this AND the epilogue to your Gala story.

Again, the chapter is quite well done. I LOVED the spin on this universe's Rarity Cutie Mark story as it combined the best elements of both Fluttershy's canon story AND Rarity's. And, yeah, leading the class in that song that calmed the animals down was downright wonderful. Of course, I'm wondering which one of the Mane Six caused the explosion that triggered Rarity's realization in this universe (since Rainbow is an Earth pony in this universe and has demonstrated no particular talent with bombs or potions). My hunch is it was either Twilight, Applejack or Dawn (and in the last case, the explosion was her unusually powerful magic kicking in), but I will admit the guess is just as likely to be wrong as right.

Anyway, the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are all well done in all the right places and I will definitely be looking forward to more of this.

Excellent job on this latest chapter. Loved the spin on Twi's backstory (particularly the bit of Suspiciously Specific Denial concerning Twilight's parents, Twilight's actual first meeting with the Brothers [along with the admission that this was long before she moved to or even heard of Ponyville] and how she helped the Brothers fix one of their machines). And, yeah, the little bit of randomness at the end of the story DEFINITELY added some humor to the mix. And, now, Sweetie and Diamond are going to the farm, where they will not only most likely find Rainbow Zap AND Apple Jet, but probably also do some chatting with Apple Bloom.

In general, the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are all well done in all the right places.

All right, so Sweetie and Scoots still have some issues to work out in this universe it seems (and yes, I'm fully aware this is a huge understatement) but I DID like Silver and Diamond's reactions to that argument. And Rainbow got her mark with indirect help from AJ while playing with one of their cousins, eh? Okay, we'll get more of the story next chapter.

At any rate, superb work on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places.

REALLY god work on the exchanges, characterizations, action and future chapter set-up in all the right places. Yeah, this chapter took a while, but was quite well worth the wait. I particularly liked Diamond and Sweetie's chat with Bloom and Twist as well as Apple Jet's story on earning her Cutie Mark helping Candy Apple (particularly the acknowledgement that she helped Rainbow get HER mark too). And now we are going to hear Dawn's story, which I'm definitely going to be looking forward to.

And, in the event that the next chapter doesn't come until after the new year starts, Happy Holidays.

The synopsis confuses me... Why wouldn't someone want to be around a Cutie Mark Crusader?

Well, this is Diamond Tiara. With how she grew up, it's hard to make friends. In this universe, she's got some added trauma that gives her reason to stay on the sidelines. She's basically an introvert.

Or do you mean why wouldn't she like cutiemarks? In that case, that's something the story answers.
