Hey, not to sound like I'm bitching or lazy, but maybe you should have posted the alternate ending HERE where it would be more convenient to your FIMfiction readers.
1353431 This is the page I sent to EqD for National Pony Writing Month; only chapter 1-10 count as the actual story while I want readers to disregard the alternate ending as part of the story.
1354773 Why not simply slap "Alternate Ending:" before the chapter titles, and maybe explain how they came about in an author's note or pre-written comment?
Anyway, I read both of those endings. The first was pretty good, following through on where the story was (inevitably, in my opinion) leading from the moment Spike realized that the Death Note worked as described and continued using the damn thing. The second, on the other hand, overshot the mark by about five to seven light-years. I guess it was meant to be some kind of reference to the death of Light Yagami, but (spoilers!) Twilight the killer just didn't do anything for me. It felt forced, awkward, and out of character - not something she wouldn't do from that particular place, but definitely something she'd regret for the rest of her life. Where the forgiveness in the "canon" ending was too easy, this one felt far too harsh. These ponies aren't that vindictive.

I read it and it was a far more fitting ending to this story.
