Everything is awesome!

With all the important things they've done since their arrival in Ponyville, it's small wonder that Princess Twilight's most notable students would start to think on what to do with their lives now. They won't always be at the School of Friendship after all, so what could possibly come next for them? After coming together to talk about it, they soon come to an important decision.

Whether it's a standalone or the start of a larger story, I enjoyed reading this. ^_^

I wonder what the Map will use for their symbols, other than Sandbar's cutie mark.

"But like your Treehouse, it too was a gift from the Tree of Harmony, and I have no intention of letting it simply lie abandoned on the edge of Ponyville."

Starlight is still living there tho, so I don't think it would be abandoned.

REALLY good job on this short story. Whether it serves as a one-shot, a lead-off to a much bigger story or a combination of both, it was quite well done. The exchange, characterizations and (possible) future story set-up are all well done in all the right places.

I especially liked the little detail of this picking up shortly after Twilight's coronation with the Young Six discussing how they plan to pick up the slack (particularly Twilight showing up toward the end). And Twilight's point about NOT letting the castle go to waste even though she isn't living there anymore WAS a good one.

Definitely looking forward to seeing what's next.

This is something that I wished the show had done before it ended, then again they showed an interesting glass window of the Young Six batting against a rock/lava creature? So maybe they did do it offscreen at the end.

Standalone or part of a bigger story, I still loved reading it! Thanks again for it!

Great follow-up to the season finale, and an excellent lead-in for future adventures with the Young Six/Friendship Squad. :pinkiehappy:

I particularly like how Twilight has been written here. From her entrance from on-high to her final farewell, she very much feels like Celestia's successor (particularly in regards to her relationship with the Young Six), but still sounds like the matured Twilight we've seen over the last nine seasons.

That was very cute. Although I'm not sure Sandbar and Yona really had anything to worry about, if the girls were able to juggle being full-time teachers AND their full-time jobs AND occasional friendship quests AND big adventures AND times where they'd just be hanging around doing nothing for hours on end, they probably didn't need replacements.

Is the map even still working? It seemed to be interconnected with the Tree of Harmony, and when that bit it, everything related to it seemed to go inactive. And there was absolutely NO friendship missions assigned by the map through the whole of season 9, so...

I mean, the Young 6 inheriting and using the map makes perfect sense, so maybe something can still be worked out--maybe the map just needs to be "reset" or something--but still a point that probably needs addressing, if only just to cover all the details.

This was pretty good, but why would the Young Six need Twilight's castle when they have the Treehouse of Harmony? Not to mention Twilight already left the castle to Starlight.

Jim Miller said on Twitter that the Tree of Harmony's destruction severed its connection to the map, which is why there have been no friendship missions in season 9.

9926127
Don’t forget that the tree didn’t die when it’s body was destroyed. It is still very much alive.

9926289
That's what I thought, so the map's not going to be of much use to them, at least for friendship missions, unless they can find someway to repair that. Perhaps that can be the plot line of a theoretical sequel for this fic (which I'd be game for ).

I also thought the Treehouse of Harmony probably would've worked just as well for the Young 6, and honestly, it was very under-ultilized in the show anyway, so here seemed as good a spot to put it to more use...but at the same time, it seems like a waste to not keep using the castle for friendship missions and the such, and honestly, what's Starlight going to do with it? So I can see it both ways.

the characters of mlp I don't miss

I vote for multi-chapter story! We ought to see how the Young Six follow the hoofsteps of Twilight and her friends~!

Now THAT would have been a perfect story for the show 😎

9925711
i was just thinking that. maybe Ocellus's horn, a Yak helmet for Yona, and a flame for Smolder? Gallus and Silverstream are tougher to come up with on the spot

9927941
Perhaps a griffon claw for Gallus and a pearl fragment for Silverstream.

9928622
yeah the pearl makes sense for Silverstream. that's how they transform, after all

9925711
In Smoulder's case, most likely her head. Perhaps for the others too.

Sooner or later Time is going to catch on.

Heh, when it had Twilight walking down the stairs so suddenly, I thought it was the "tree" version of Twilight at first!

Very good story and an excellent take on the Young 6. Now we just need a follow-up of how they got that stained-glass window in Canterlot Castle.

I'll love to read this as a multi part story

I'll toss my name into the "Sequel please" pile.

At the very least, I'd be interested to see what strains are put on their friendships when Yona and Sandbar eventually marry ... and have a foal.. I'm down for more interactions, squabbles, and resolutions in this group.

Wow that is really amazing I really love the story of the young 6

Oh my gosh this is pretty great I can't wait to see what's going to happen next :twilightsheepish:

I see the problem. They weren't sitting on the right chairs!

And yes, kids, Starlight does in fact still live here.

Thanks immensely for getting this next chapter up. I REALLY love the work that went into the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up. I LOVED the points all the Young Six made when they were discussing just how big the world they just stepped into actually is as well as stuff about hierarchy, the frequency of friendship problems and Starlight actually living in the castle too. Now that I think of it, Sunburst probably lives there too (albeit in a separate room from Starlight) as the castle IS big enough for ALL of them.

VERY certainly looking forward to more of this.

Part of me actually sort of hope they get missions through some means other than the cutie map, if only to just to do it differently.

Nevertheless, I'm glad we're still discussing some of the logistics of all of this before just getting right into--definitely still a few points both big and small that were in need of acknowledging.

Ocellus is gonna crash so hard when the excitement/coffee wears off.

Excellent job on this latest chapter. Yeah, love the work that went into the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up. Yeah, the reactions to Silverstream's early morning wake-up were pretty understandable, as well as the discussion of Yona's cooking (and yeah, when somebody who literally eats GEMS as part of their regular diet breaks a tooth on it, you KNOW it's too hard to eat) and Ocellus's reveal of the research she did on where to begin their patrol for their first friendship problem. And, yeah, even Gallus eventually admitted that Griffonstone DID seem like the best place to start (and I have a hunch that Gabby would probably a good griffon to go to for information on where to find a friendship problem in Griffonstone [considering that, one: she's the local mail-carrier there, so she's been almost everywhere in the city. two: she LOVES helping others and three: she's fairly talkative most of the time]).

But, anyway, very certainly be looking forward to more of this.

Ohhh This is a pretty good start to their journey Silverstream is Definitely pinkie pie she so hyped up :pinkiehappy: This is really gonna be in the interests in story and I can't wait for more Keep up the good work

Glad to see you decided to continue with this story, should be interesting to see how their first friendship mission to Griffinstone will go next time around.

"Gallus, I'm sorry, but...I think we've already found it."

o lawd, it's gonna get ugly before it gets cute again

"Gallus, I'm sorry, but...I think we've already foundit."

Yeah Silverstream is right gallus We did find a Friendship problem its you and Grandpa Gruff I can't wait to see how this will work out because this should be very interesting to see😅

REALLY good job on the latest chapter. Yeah, the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up are all pretty well done in all the right places. Yeah, the exchanges between the gang concerning not just Griffonstone, but also the Changeling Kingdom and the Dragonlands make a lot of good points and I DO like the nod to your other series about Twilight's Reign. And, yeah, I would have thought they would check with Gabby as to where there could be a friendship problem to solve (as she would be the one most likely to know where to find one because of her job and how much she likes helping others), but yeah, Silverstream might have a point concerning how they already found one (Gallus DOES have those issues with Grandpa Gruff to address after all).

But, yeah, definitely looking forward to more of this.

He tried to walk away, but was kept from doing so when Silverstream placed her claw upon his shoulder. And when he looked to her, he saw her staring at him with worry, with a voice to match. "Gallus, I'm sorry, but...I think we've already found it."

Ohhhh boy, you couldn't ask for a better friendship problem than that! :facehoof:

Can't wait to see Gallus reaction to it next chapter, also cool nod to your other series *Twilight's Reign* with the train station & Griffinstone's new look, kudos for that! :yay:

The bigger question is this a friendship problem that can actually be fixed? Even from a generous standpoint...there's a lot of bad blood between Gallus and Gruff. :twilightoops:

Well...I suppose they wouldn't be very good guardians of friendship if they couldn't fix even this. :rainbowlaugh: But, you know, not beating about the bush here and instead going right for the difficult ones.

So Starlight's the De-facto leader?

She's not that bad of a cook.

Could this be where Gallus and Silverstream finally ship?

Daww, sweet ending. Just found this story but looking forward to more.

Hey maybe not the way we expect the but I guess this is the closest you're ever going to get It was a sweet and bitter between gallus and gruff :fluttershysad: But at least they understand each other and gruff dose care and it's very hard Some wounds are just too deep And things cats be all happy and forgiving but sometimes you just want to end with a good point even though You'll never become friends and I guess that's ok This is a pretty Good story and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next time keep up the good work 😌

This sure was a bittersweet lesson, despite it's conclusion at least Gallus can finally move on. :fluttercry:

Glad that he has good friends that stick by him no matter what, till the next chapter!

REALLY good job on the exchanges, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places. Yeah, sometimes, "Bittersweet" is the best we can hope for, but at least Gruff and Gallus have SOME understanding of each other now.

Hopefully, the next mission will go better.

But still, very certainly looking forward to more of this.

So Friendship Mission success?

I'm pretty content with how this turned out, actually. While I wouldn't necessarily be against Gruff and Gallus making up fully...there's just too much bad blood for it to happen all at once. It'll need time...realistically speaking, perhaps more than they have, considering Gruff's advancing age and overall stubbornness.

But they've at least set the record straight on where they both stand on the matter...and that still counts for far more than some might realize.

That was a nice ending chapter. I'm glad everything worked out for them.

They maybe not the most successful mission but what harmony said they did what they can do and it all it matters And I'm sure a lot of people made about the name for the tree of harmony just say harmony lol But this is a really nice story so far can't wait to see the next one Till next time 😊

that's it?
that's it?
there's so much more that can be done with this!

10246378 Don't worry, I have other ideas for its future, but this arc with Gallus was the only one I had anything concrete for right now

REALLY good job on the exchanges, characterizations and future arc set-up in this epilogue to your first arc. Yeah, I can see where they would all be in thought concerning the bittersweet ending to that mission as well as the discussion of "mission progress" with Twilight. Plus, yeah, Twilight's "Tree of Harmony" image reassuring the group was a wonderful touch.

Definitely looking forward to more of this, but can definitely understand why you might need some "thinking time".
