It would make a lot more sense for Spike to be excited about Rarity's uncertainty. Means she's on the fence about how she feels about him, meaning he's got a chance with her.
I'm enjoying this greatly so far. It's simple and easygoing. There are a few errors that interrupted the flow, but other than that it's all good as far as I'm concerned. The biggest ones that stood out were "(They) was simply wonderful, wouldn't you say, dahling?" and "the brown early pony seated on her other side, lean on each other and continue watching" I'm sure it was just minor derps in the writing
All in all, I'm pretty hooked.
