This story is a sequel to Our Principal Is A Belly Dancer

To help raise funds for the Canterlot Animal Shelter, Pinkie Pie proposes throwing a belly dance-themed event. While Fluttershy has gotten comfortable performing as a Rainboom, she remains nervous about belly dancing for anyone other than her closest friends. Can she muster the courage to shimmy in support of the shelter and its animals?

Oh, this is going to be a challenge for poor Fluttershy, she has stage fright as it is. Come on girl, you can do it.

Always happy for another installment.

Fluttershy looked at Cecil as he lay coiled in a corner. Belly dancing with a snake? It just seemed so tacky - like something out of a carnival sideshow, or some garish pop music video. She even remembered Twilight once mentioning how the image of belly dancers performing with snakes was yet another embellishment by Applewood. Twilight was sure to launch into a lecture if anyone even suggested the idea!

For obvious reasons this comes to mind:

Better hope nobody puts the spotlight on her!

Glad you're enjoying these stories!

Yikes! I'd forgotten about that scene. :twilightoops:

9814575 Then there is one thing to do...Edit the hell out of the chapter. Also we need Zephyr to show up to make himself look like an idiot.

9814603
Methinks the pop culture base is covered referencing a certain Britney Spears music video.

I've definitely considered having Zephyr Breeze show up and act the fool. We'll see if he does... :rainbowwild:

Just out of curiosity, everyone in this story is 18?

9814855
That is correct; although this story is not a clopfic (and neither are its prequels).

9816606
Thank you very much! Glad that you do.

Looks like a great start. I will definitely be following this one to its conclusion!

One thing at a time, she quietly told herself. One thing at a time.

Words to live by.

Another nice installment. I liked seeing the discussion of using the gym at CHS and the arrangements therein - definitely will be curious to see how the classmates will react to this notion.

I'm quite interested to see where this is going, considering that this is quite outside of Fluttershy's comfort zone. I could also kind of see her having the snake not just as part of her performance, but also as someone that could help her mentally. After all, she is able to talk to it, so it could probably give her some sage advice to help her feel more at ease. At least, that's how I could picture it going.

Hang in there Fluttershy.

I really think this is a hobby that could bring Fluttershy out her shell.

Fluttershy will definitely need to do more than pretend everyone in the audience is a chicken! :fluttershysad:

So the school's interested. Things are going great, is it wrong if I'm cynical enough to wonder when the other shoe's going to drop?

Nah, I'm kind of on a similar page myself. I keep expecting some complication to spring up, but I'm just not sure what yet...

Solid work as always! Definitely glad to see another installment of this story, and I'm interested to see what'll happen with Fluttershy and Cecil next.

I wonder if the junior class will soon see a rise in members.

Pretty interested to see where things will go with the snake... and also this Sandalwood guy.

I wonder this is equivalent back in Equestria.

Oh crap. ...Here's that other shoe.

Ouch.

What makes this worse is that Zephyr wasn't trying to be a dick. He was just trying to be supportive (in an annoying sibling way), but unwittingly touched a nerve in Fluttershy.

Oof. Damn it, Zephyr... even when he's trying to be supportive he still finds a way to screw up. :ajbemused:

I've heard the 'break a leg' line so many times in media, but this is the first time I've seen 'good luck' yield bad luck. I don't know why, but I'm real glad you did this. I'm sorry for Fluttershy, but the writing is great.

So that's where that quote comes from. Never knew about that.

Well, here's hoping Fluttershy will become a little... less shy about the whole thing in the end.

 Eeyup! I considered mentioning Zephyr in the previous chapter, but it probably would have given away his showing up now.

I've always imagined Zephyr as a "Gilligan" sort of character - someone who manages to throw a wrench into the works even when he tries to help.

9912004
Thanks! It seemed an especially befitting way for poor Fluttershy to be "jinxed" just when she is about to go on.

9912786
I learned about it the hard way when I wished my sister "good luck" before a play. :rainbowderp:

While the "Gilligan" analogy is apt for someone like Zephyr, I don't see that as the issue here.

For all of Zephyr's flaws, I think he genuinely looks up to and admires his sister. The problem is that he forgets that Fluttershy has her own issues and anxieties.

In his own mind, Zephyr is the sister who can do no wrong.

They then glanced over to find Zephyr with several other students trying his hand at hip circles. Much to everyone's surprise, he was actually pretty good at it!

Well, I'll be damned. Who'd thunk? Zeph, you may be able to make a career out of this.

Also, performing with an animal, a snake no less? So Fluttershy.

And I have to say, if this is the conclusion, the 'true ending' if you will... yeah, it finishes on a high note.

Glad that you all enjoyed this tale!

Great work. Glad to see that Fluttershy got over her nervousness in the end.

Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

Thank you very much!

Sorry, the late comment is late, but what song are you referring to for "Slave 2 B". when I try to find it so I know what you're talking about I think I'm getting songs that are close but not quite?

Another new chapter and another song I can't track down, "Streets of Cairo" (AKA "There's a Place in France"). I don't know if I have just bad luck or what, or is it also called "The Poor Little Country Maid" because I kept getting that one. Sauce for the song you're referring to please.

Hello there. "Slave 2 B" is actually a fictional/joke song title - a reference to "I'm A Slave 4 U" by Britney Spears.
