My name is Trixie. I don't know much besides that. I was traveling once, I think. I do remember getting lost.

I don't know where I am, but it's empty. I call it Nihilos. There's nothing in here but the remains of a world that moved on. This is what it left behind. I'm alone without the warmth of the sun, nor the guide of the moon. Only a mist that never leaves.

All there's left is the ruins of the world that was, and me.

Me, and the monsters.

This was VERY well written and handled in a clear way that says "The Time of Gods And Monsters are coming to an end" and the fact you still managed to convey that feeling impressed me so damn much dude. Good job.

Epic dude. Truly. And I'll add some mood music

Interesting start, nice to see a new chapter from you. Two quick mistakes I caught.

No more than some days ago, she saw the Golem pass through a three as if it wasn't even there, leaving only pieces of timber on its wake. It was relentless and merciless.

Should be tree not three

The first to move again was the Golem, his time to take a step in her direction.

I think it should be "this time" instead of "his time."

I’m curious—where (and how) did you find the artwork? I was able to look up Juan Carlos Barquet’s Web site, and of course Fantasy Flight Games and Middle-earth Enterprises are well-known names, but I couldn’t find that particular image anywhere. It does have a suitably haunting quality, which he seems to specialize in, but I’m not sure what location he originally was depicting.

I'm glad the mod was clear enough. I wasn't sure if the experimental narrative let space for the concept to settle.
Though I listed Kamandi, what really inspired me was that panel in New Gods of Lonar pulling a broken sword and a Thor's helm out of the rumble of where the Old Gods died.

That is pretty much the mod I was aiming for, besides the desolation of Shadow of the Colossus.

Thanks a lot for the corrections. I'll try to be more careful in the next one.

I found it in Google search looking for post-apocaliptic and wasteland imagery. It was the closest I found in composition, but I didn't like the palette. So I ran it through blue filter. In the process, I lost the URL. So there's that. I'll look for the original again and link it as source.

I would suggest not every monster dying is the same tragedy like in Shadow Of The Colossus.

Very cool! Thanks for digging it up; it’s an amazing piece of artwork from a very interesting artist. :pinkiehappy:

Yeah. Too bad that, if I don't get a reply for the permission thing, I'll just find something else. It doesn't feel right using someone's art when knowing whose is it.

You've got an interesting narrator voice to the story, and the things you don't say say as much or more than the things you do. Good world-building with minimal description.

Yeah, I'm going full experimental here. LAst time I tried that, it was in the middle of a fic with... mixed results. Worldbuilding is another thing I wanted to re-exercise.

And on the missing things, well. There's a reason for the mystery tag.

I want to see where this goes, even though I know nothing about the source, err, influential material.

Ah, well, as you may guess, the current situation in my country may keep me from writing wore than my job already does, but I'm advancing. Slow, but safe.

On Shadow of the Colossus, there isn't much to know in order to understand this story, as it only takes the general feeling but not the lore. So, the abridged version is both works feature an ambiguous situation in a desolated setting and monsters.

Also, Der Golem was of more influence in this chapter anyways, and I highly recommend it. It's full on YouTube, not too long either.

Story vaguely inspired in Kamandi and Shadow of the Colossus. Dedicated to the memory of Jack "The King" Kirby, and special shout out to Team ICO.

I played ICO (the one before Shadow of the Colossus) and while IDK how much of it you could take into your story, I deeply recommend it, especially because it also fits into your story, feeling wise.

And, well, tracking now. Let's see where this story goes.

Very nicely written with intense, yet somehow serene atmosphere. Noticed a few typos and tense slips, but otherwise your grammar and spelling was pristine. My biggest complaint would be that right now it’s not truly a pony (or ponified human) story, but rather a standalone piece of fantasy. Which is not necessarily a bad thing.

Thank you for this read! I hope to see a new chapter soon

Glad you enjoyed it. Will do my best, to at least have another chapter up.

Looking forward to it, whenever it arrives

Nice epic feel there - an action Trixie, I like! :trixieshiftleft::trixieshiftright:🗡

An end of an era, skeletons of a past grandiose society...

I should do more experimental prose. Glad you enjoyed it.

Post Data: Can't see the video. Country locked.

Crud - ah well, c'est la vie.

May this Trixie find one day her eden...

Neat story idea!
