This story is a sequel to Starlight and Sunburst's Misadventures in Flurry Sitting
(Familiarity with Starlight and Sunburst's Misadventures in Flurry Sitting is strongly recommended, though not required. Takes place after "A Horse Shoe-In".)
Now that Sunburst is the new vice headmare of the School of Friendship, Starlight is thrilled to have her childhood friend and special somepony close to her at all times. Especially as she prepares to take over the school when Twilight ascends to the throne.
However, Trixie can't help but notice that her best friend hasn't been on a date with Sunburst in a very long time. Wanting her friend to be happy, Trixie takes it upon herself to give them one as a way of making up for her behavior during the search for a vice headmare.
Sunburst is eager to accept the offer (especially once Twilight gives her blessing), but Starlight is distracted by her worries about taking over the school. Can a date with Sunburst cheer her up? And does Sunburst have his own plans in mind?
All I can say is REALLY good job on the exchanges, characterizations and general wrap-up in this one-shot epilogue piece. And, yeah, you bring up A LOT of valid points in the author's notes.
Speaking of pals to couples.....you noticed the interaction of Spike and Gabby last week?
This was really cute! Now I want to read about them actually getting married, maybe after the coronation when everything is settled Starlight may say yes this time around ;)
note to self write a wedding one shotAs for StarTrix, I personally have mixed feelings for them. On one hand, you got to be a blind homophobe not to see the potential: they have fantastic chemistry, they complement each other in a lot of ways even down to their color scheme, so it's pleasant and fun to see them together on screen and the episodes they appear are very funny. But on the other hand, those same episodes showcase to me why they wouldn't work as a couple, they're always fighting and take their problems to extremes until the consequences bite them in the butt and they're forced to apologize for problems caused by either Trixie's pride or Starlight's ignorance. In other words: they bring out the worst in each other, even if they care and love each other.
That's kind of why I like StarBurst so much: they bring out the best in each other. Starlight is grounded and focused around him, and Sunburst is gentler and sympathetic around her. They don't have many episodes together in the same way Trixie and Starlight do, but at least in the episodes they appear together they're not at each other's throats, so that's a big plus for them to be a couple because it won't end with one of them being murdered.
So yeah, tldr; I agree with you on Sunburst being a better romantic partner for Starlight.

My favorite ship! These two are so made for each other. This was a great read and you got Trixie's character down cold! She's adds so much to the trio of friends. Star-Burst just works for me; One is very smart in history of magic and lore while the other is very powerful in performing magic. They make a formidable team in any situation. Their foals would be both smart and beautiful, for sure!

Well this was a pretty sweet story so it looks like Sunburst took the position as vice principal of the friendship School and starlight was pretty excited to see him here knowing to the fact that they haven't seen each other for a while and it was pretty sweet for Trixie and Twilight to do this for Starlight to take a break to spend time with sunburst and of course Trixie is in trouble for what happened the last time and almost in danger to students meanwhile Starlight and Sunburst we're having a picnic which was nice but it looks like Sunburst wanted to say something and wow I didn't expect that he tried to propose to Starlight which that was too fast and what we heard that he is moving to Ponyville which that is so cool but anyway Starlight told him that he's moving too fast they need to like go on a date first how this will go which that's always understandable because you don't want to rush relationships like that and Sunburst understand that and with that they turn for today when she got to the school Twilight and Trixie ask her how did the date go and she told him it was good this was a pretty nice story keep up the good work
