After witnessing a riot in the middle of Ponyville's Marketplace, Fluttershy discovers a stranger at the center of it all, an odd-looking, pitiful stallion who can't even speak who was being targeted for no discernible reason. She takes him under her wing, hoping to take care of him and prepare him for a big world that he clearly was never ready for. Little does she know that otherworldly forces are at work...

I read that this is a crossover but i am unfamiliar with the series being crossed plz tell me:rainbowhuh:

1219857 Promethean: The Created is a Tabletop RPG published by White Wolf that I can't explain well enough to give you an idea of what it is, so here's a link! Promethean: The Created

Like I said though, you don't really need to know much about Promethean to understand the story, it just uses elements from it. Glad you like it so far, though!

1221445 thanks its coming together great so far.

i find this interesting:moustache:

1232893 Many thanks, good sir.

1287149 Do not fret, my friend! The next chapter is nearing completion... I have a crack team of editors ensuring that my next release is of the highest quality, for their vigilance means I don't do something stupid like ruin the story!

In all seriousness, thank you for your interest. More is on the way!

A few things I feel I should address here: I realize both that this chapter is rather short compared to the others, and there's an appalling lack of Fluttershy in it. This will be rectified soon enough. :yay:

Also, for any of you who are well-versed in Promethean: The Created (Which I would guess is about... Three of you), the chapter name "Disquiet" doesn't have anything to do with the actual game mechanic. :twilightblush:

Anywho, enjoy, and be sure to tell me what you think!

This story is oddly captivating. Please, do go on.

I'll figure out what this is a crossover of. You'll see. You will all see... :pinkiecrazy:

:pinkiegasp: The antagonist appears!

So.....Stitches seems to be attracting storm clouds......I wonder....

Twilight Sparkle, you sneaky little Egghead! I couldn't be more proud of you! Having Spike secretly take notes for the Princesses....I'm SO proud!

1794599 SPARKLE... YOU MAGNIFICENT FILLY, I READ YOUR BOOKS!

Huh. Definitely a Frankenstein, but the cutie mark implies the Refinement of Source, which is odd for one of them, and the idea that a Promethean young enough not to know how to speak having a Refinement is absurd. Also interesting that AJ and Fluttershy aren't affected by his Disquiet, and that Fluttershy could see his Disfigurement, though didn't notice any electrodes or electricity. It's probably the Elements.

And the narrative stops just short of outright stating it. Definitely the Elements.

Poor guy doesn't know his own strength...

Uh oh. I can only see this ending three ways, seeing as he's already manifesting his Wasteland. Either he reaches his New Dawn real fast (but creating progeny may be a problem), he ends up having to wander the world, leaving his friends behind, or he gets killed.:fluttercry:

Man what a douche.

My anger and desire to purge this utter monster is strong which means you wrote this story extremely we'll good gob :pinkiehappy:

I wish you luck stitches may you achieve your great work.

*reads the story intro before reading the story proper*

... Friggin' Disquiet, man. It's an awful thing for anyone, anypony in this case, to experience. The Created are Hated, and the mortals are helpless before the whims of the universe to cause them misery.

This is a reason Joseph Buck, one of the Wretched, pursues the Refinement of Copper.

Wait, is... is Flutters a Scion?

She can see past any glamour to see the Wretched, pitiful powerhouse beneath, but... unlike the others, she doesn't seem to suffer the hate brought on by Disquiet.

Also, he's an admirable sort, restraining his Torment or not giving into it immediately.

*hears the cops' explanation* That sounds about right. Anyone that does remember likely feels extremely ashamed and, true to the blurbs in the source-book, have no real idea why they lost their shit.

1349627 Heh. Doesn't mean he can't mistake it for Disquiet, right?

Also, Mark of the Titan... Refinement of Iron, then?

A Hunter appears to "solve" this issue.

And THAT, sirs, is the Disquiet. Fucks everythin' up, whether the Promethean wants it or not.

That sad thing is that Flamebearer's words, harsh as they are, are very true. Prometheans are often nomadic in their Pilgrimages, because often they are far too aware of the pain that can be caused by their presence, to them or the people (or ponies) around them.

It would be so easy for any lesser being to just give up and die.

And thus closes this chapter on the life of Stitches, Wretched, Promethean, poor pony without yet a true soul.

You are a good pony, Mr. Stitches. May you one day complete you Pilgrimage, hopefully keep your old memories of Promethean-hood, and return to your friends. Godspeed. *salutes*
