Found the show in late 2015, and fell in love with it. I also like D&D (3 and 3.5), Fansty novel and movie, Sci-Fi movies. MarbleMac is Best Ship and Flashlight is a fair second

This story is a sequel to My Little Mages: The Perfect Present in Perpetuum

A whole new year has started as the spring flowers are in bloom. After Rainbow received an invitation to Hope Hollow's Rainbow Festival, she decides to take her friends to kick things off.

However, upon arriving, Hope Hollow and the Rainbow Festival was... to put it softly oversold in the invitation as the town has seen better days, especially since all the color in the Hollow are gone.

Well, Twilight et al came this far and they have a reputation as heroes.

Can they bring the color back?
Can they help the hollow?
Or if will hope never return?

Its cool the PinkieDash stuff is among my favorite parts.

I'm wondering how many people in this town know Rarity's parents.

That's your major take away? Nothing else of note?:applejackunsure:

9803570
Let's see.

  1. PinkieDash
  2. FlashLight is still engaged
  3. Flash and Spike keeping Twi's need to micromanage under control
  4. Reminder that RD already has a fan club
  5. AJ's new love interest
  6. The balloon escape is less panicky and chaotic
  7. Mane 6 being more observant
  8. RariJack tease instead of the popout bed gag

There's a lot that was of note. I just chose that one thing to comment on.

9803607
Oh, you know you can comment on all the things that you find of note

The connection to Rarity's parents was the only notable detail unique to this story. All the other details I've either learned to expect from your writing or I've already seen in your previous stories.

Is PinkieDash a proper thing, or was it just a fling?

Well.... *remembers that the last episode of the series has not had it's official US release and won't until Oct. 12th or 19th*... I have to follow my lawyer's advice and say 'no comment'

Nothing new here except the girls literally ship-teasing each other.

:raritydespair:But what about my astute observation, connecting the dots faster than in the actual special. Darling, you wound me!:raritycry:
:ajbemused:You just have to be a drama queen, Dontcha, Sugarcube.
:raritydespair:But... look... you see that I... I...:raritycry:
:ajbemused:

Yeah, not a ton of notable changes here either other than characters answering unasked questions and finishing each other's sentences.

9851472
fair enough, but I don't really see many changes needed

Hmm backstage pass does have a lot of Pinkie in it and that is good however it does not give a lot of PinkieDash moments by default but I think it would still be fun. Besides you already have done a number of the small specials and the like might as well finish this one.

Hmm, I thought you were going to do more with the connection you gave Rarity's parents to the town. :applejackunsure: Oh well, I can't really complain. Nice job providing a deeper explanation of how hopeless magic works in this universe. I honestly half-expected Twilight to say "papers to grade" at the end. It's nice to see that she's learning how to let loose.

Maybe in the next story I'll address that. No promises.
As for the hopeless magic think, after I first watched the special and sat down to think about it I was reminded of the Crystal Ponies.
I was going for a call back to when Pinkie sang while also alluding to the fact that Tara Strong also auditioned for the role of Pinkie.
