"...what did I just even read." - Wintermist || "Pour la beauté du geste" || ooo || π

Relationships can be a very complicated thing. Sometimes there's more going on than what one would be able to gauge by simply looking at the interactions between the two members of one. Sometimes there's more than one of them might realise. Sometimes someone might have no idea of how much they changed someone else, how much they mean to them, or how much the other would suffer without them. And sometimes, maybe, things should stay that way.

It seems very emotionally involved, but if the description and the final paragraph hadn't mentioned Sunset, I honestly wouldn't have been able to tell it was her writing it. It needs more context, I think for it to have true impact. Maybe some sort of intro, rather than jumping straight into her letter.

I felt like this lacked character? If it weren't for the story description, I wouldn't have known it was Sunset writing the letter. The story just felt lacking.

Thrilling but unless you read the character tags and the cover for this story. You wouldn't know if this was Sunset or not.

As others have said, this is a heartfelt but generic take on a long-distance relationship. True, not many others have this sort of discrepancy in what one owes to the other and how dangerous their lives are, but the voicing of the letter still feels like Generic Wistful Lover #17 rather than Sunset specifically.

Plus, I like to think that Pinkie found the abandoned letter and transcribed the contents into the journal. Because screw drama and regretful might-have-beens. We have a Pinkie! :pinkiehappy:

Amazing how often communication feels like a terrifying version of ripping a bandaid off.

dang, this sure was sadder than I thought/expected.
