You could argue that she went too far trying to disprove Pinkie Pie's Pinkie sense, but you could also argue that she's a mare who's determined to find the truth, and thus made some sacrifices to find it.
Her true personality is debatable to 99.999% of those who pay attention to MLP, but that is why this is a fan fiction, and not official work.
