I like the idea, it's neat. The ending did feel a little... unsatisfying? It's fine to end a story with unanswered questions, but they kinda need to be balanced out by answered questions. If the majority of the questions or plot points in a story go unresolved, it ends up feeling kind of unfinished.
The writing is solid though, and I genuinely do like the idea. It feels like something that could be expanded into something really fun.
