River Shy

A smol blue pegasus filly, who out of necessity pretends to be a functional human. (She/Her)

Twilight finds a book that grows. Every page she reads it gets a page longer, how will she handle it?

I think this is more-or-less literally the plot of the original novel version of The Neverending Story.

Not bad, a good little read in my opinion

♪It is the book that never ends!
It goes on and on my friends!♫

Well... someone is really not fond of Wikipedia XD

Poor Twilight.

I'd be lying if I said this song and show did not enter my brain while writing this.

Lol apart from a few spelling errors, this is awesome.

Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you point out the errors I'll fix em.

Yeah, she's so hard on herself at times :twilightblush:

And then somewhere along the way, it became the tale of Tenacious D trying to take over the world :rainbowlaugh:

Like all knowledge it is truly completely unattainable.

We must steady our minds and calm our spirits.

We'll never know everything, but it is the unknown that makes life exciting.

The real question is...just how or when did she use the bathroom during these days of non-stop reading?

Are you familiar with The Book of Sand?

Book of Sand? I have never heard of it before.... what is it?

I am assuming this is what you are referring to. This short story looks like an amazing read, I am going to give it a go, thank you!

Yes, it is quite the interesting story. I highly recommend it. BTW, where did you find your cover art? I don't think I've ever seen Twilight read a book in the whole nine seasons.

This image is directly from the episode where Spike has to uphold his dragon code and assist Applejack. He walks into the library to tell Twilight and Twilight is reading and ignores him the entire time he talks, I just cropped out the background a bunch to highlight her.

Yup, that's what I thought it was. She completely ignores Spike, then wonders why he went off to live with the Apples. I know a lot of people hate that episode, but I really like it. It's nice to see the dynamic between two characters who don't get as much screen time or love as some of the others.

Funny enough that there really is a story on fanfiction that just never seems to end they practically reached max chapters size I don’t know what the story is called I just know it exists and apparently it’s over 1 million words long longer than war and peace apparently

A rather nice little read, one that gives you just what it says on the cover. Noticed some rough sentences here and there that obstructed the flow, and also others that could be omitted to get rid of redundant exposition. The stallion at the end was an unexpected—and a little grim—addition, I think it’s a shame that scene wasn’t a bit longer. Had a lot of potential

Thank you very much for the feedback, I know redundant exposition is something I really struggle with. I didn't really take more than a passing glance at this before I published. It was more about completing the scene which I have not done before, this is why it is so short. Next story I will look deeper and try and clean it up. Again thanks for the constructive criticism.

You’re welcome, I’m glad I could help at least a little bit with my two cents  Let me know if you ever need any help with your stories or writing in general :raritywink:

To think a seemingly random story would teach an imporant, enlightening lesson: there really is no point in continuing a story if it's no longer interesting. Kind of like the show past Season (insert number signifying the season you think the show lost quality at here)

Anyhoof, that was a nice story. Keep up the good work. :)

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

This was an interesting concept, and events played out similarly to how I expect they truly would. I'm sending you a note on punctuation, but this story was unique.

Thank you very much for taking the time to sift though and send me all those edits. I have gone though and fixed it all. I'm glad you found my story unique and worth reading.

Wow. :pinkiegasp: Thank you for caring about your grammar. Not all of the authors who get a note bother to fix anything at all. I greatly appreciate the respect you have for your audience, which you show in doing so.

Nice idea, though I didn't get much feeling out of it. Maybe I'm just tired or not to emotionally drawn. Not bad at all though.

And the diary of Voldemort was destroyed.
(Spoiler from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets)

Speaking of Long stories, I'm reading a FimFiction book series with 4 books, and just the first book has 122 chapters, each averaging out to having more than a thousand words. Here is the link to the first book of the four, Twilight gets a Puppy. It may not be forever, but it is extremely long.

I mean who needs a basilisk tooth when you have awesome, OP Starlight. :derpytongue2::twilightsmile:

Yeah. Plus, Harry could of died from touching it. :unsuresweetie:

Yes! Take that, book! :yay:

I used to feel this way about book/stories. Then, I started reading fanfiction. Now, I drop stories all the time.

Spike left the ground and began to fly as fast as he could though the halls...

Sorry to do this, but it’s “...through the halls...”
The story in general was great :pinkiehappy:

Wow, that was quick. I was expecting this to take a day or two to get noticed.

 just happened to hit me at the right time, glad you liked the story.

Twilight had tears brimming in her eyes. “Starlight I….. I’ve never not finished a book before.”

Oh Faust, I'm getting flashbacks of Lesson Zero:twilightoops:!!!

Why do I totally see Twilight doing this and going completely and utterly insane in the process:twilightoops:? Oh I know, because this is the Twilight Sparkle, Reader of Books, Master of Magic, Reader of Books, Princess of Friendship... did I mention she's a master at reading books:twilightsheepish:?

I read this a long time ago. But I just now realized that line sounds like she's read all the books ever, once the right grammar is replaced
I've never not finished a book before has double negatives, so it's like I've finished a book before, or to extrapolate: Iive finished all the books before.
I know it's a bit far-fetched, but still.
