I don't think this really qualifies as a fanfiction. It feels like you took an original fiction, and just replaced a few words (like changing “woman” to “mare”). Those few words aside, this story has nothing to do with My Little Pony.
The two are not mutually exclusive. Actuality, if your sex doesn't have any snuggles, lovey-doveyness, or warm fuzzes: You're probably doing it wrong!

For some reason, my mind immediately went to Ed Shearen's "A-Team" song. The story itself wasn't that depressing, but I kept thinking about that song for some reason.
Also, great job on this fic! Truth be told, I didn't know what to expect from this, but after reading it, I kept scolding myself for not reading it any sooner. This definitely something more people should read. If not for the story, then for the message it brings. Thank you Brady! I needed that more than I thought I did.
