Chapter 8: The Story Unfolds

Why did I wake up in a bathtub? As soon as I got out, I wrung myself out, because I don't want to be weakened by water. When I got outside, I froze. Was I in a world of ponies?

"There you are, paper bro!" I recognized that voice. I turned to my right and saw Luigi with a shy-looking Pegasus. "Paper Mario, meet Fluttershy. She went and got you treated for poison joke, which, according to her, must have crumpled you up."

I looked back at the bathtub I was in. "Poison joke" crumpled me up? And the cure for it was a bath? What kind of place is this?

"I know, bro. Equestria is weird. But now's not the time to wonder. We need to go to this place called Canterlot Castle. Follow Fluttershy, because she seems to know the way there. Maybe we'll find Mario on the way."
