I feel like someone has already done something like this, but it's late, I'm tired, and I needed to vent out some personal sadness. Enjoy it for what it's worth.

Spike didn't particularly share the same bond as the element holders. Then again, I could have written about every other friend Twilight ever made in the franchise, but I figured the element holders were the ones who had a lasting impact, not just because they were her closest friends, but because she, as the Princess of Equestria, would have to hold all the elements herself until another perfect six were found. (Ignoring whatever happened in Season 8).

Just two problems with this story from my POV:
1. Spike is missing and considering the fact that he was Twilight’s friend/assistant before the season started, I believe that he should have been included.
2. Twilight called Pinkie her full name instead of nickname?

I was not aware of the other ones having full names.I explained away Spike earlier, I presume he would have lived longer naturally, being a dragon. Also not an element bearer. Twilight would have mourned for all of them in her own way, this is just the specific letter about her five friends which she had written. . .many times. I wanted to compress it into a one-night write, focusing on her dealing with her friends. I could have expanded into ten thousand words on the way she saw every character in the show, as in this story, she is the last remaining princess (as far as I was willing to describe in a simple story).
What's here is specific to the loss of her closest friends, her greatest difficulty, everything else, which would have made the story an agonizingly-long read to establish the same point, is implied by Twilight's character. I made focus to the elements of course, to which no other ponies (including the Princesses) had borne.

In the show, and probably in this stories universe, Spike was mostly used as an object to pass along letters and get hit by objects or crushed for comedic purposes. So he might not be at the front of her mind at that moment.
