The trick is to describe the macro's impact on the environment. The dirt shifting under their feet, buildings shattering around them, trees shattering into toothpicks, roads shattering into gravel. Stuff like that.
It also helps to describe what it feels like to be big. Such as the air being cooler the higher up the macro is. Noticing just how powerful their muscles are, and how minute actions are enough to pull of incredible feats. Stuff like that is way more interesting and attention grabbing than simply just saying that a character is big.

Id love to read a Sequel About a giant rarity jerking of a giant spike. Like, Rarity turns herself into a dragoness to help spike through mating Season or something, and ends up bigger than him.
