Crystal Faire Pt 1
Crystal Empire, 7:15 AM

The Crystal Ponies are hard at work preparing, banners are being hung, . City Square is loaded with half built stands and banners, Sunburst is organizing the Unicorns in preparation for the Borealis Crystal show, and Shining armor was organizing the security of the faire with the 4 crystal captains; Sapphire Ray a Pegasus mare with a baby blue coat indigo mane and amber eyes, Silver Stone an Earth pony Colt with a silver coat, a slicked grey mane and green eyes, Bright Quartz a unicorn Colt with a Salmon coat, dark blue mane and crystal blue eyes and Flare Blast a unicorn mare with a crimson coat, Fiery orange mane and yellow eyes. Each captain sported the same crystal guard armor but with golden accents
" I want at least three Squads patrolling the main fair grounds at all times, while the rest of the guard patrol the outer city and battlements." Shining says designating positions on his map as his Troop nod in agreement. "The good news is with the Sun and Lunar guards accompanying the other Princesses our numbers will be doubled. meaning we won't need to spread too thin."Shining announces
"That's good, I've been dying to see the joust this year" Silverstone comments pleased
"And I can finally enjoy the fair with my son." Flare adds looking a photo of her and her son.
" Hehe If everything goes smoothly, every pony will have at least one day to enjoy the faire" Shining reassures " All that's left is to await the arrival of the princesses and prepare for the opening ceremonies, Let's get to it"
"Right!" the captains respond saluting.
Ponyville station, 8:37am

Twilight, Spike and Starlight stand at the station awaiting the rest of their friends. "I'm so excited for this years Crystal Faire, A three day grand festival celebrating the rich culture of the crystal empire."
"And with all the princesses attending maybe I won't be mobbed by the crystal ponies...much." " Spike adds scratching the back of his head causing the two ponies to giggle as the rest of the main six arrive.
"Howdy girls" Applejack says walking up with two packed saddle bag and a crate of cider on her back." Y' all ready for the trip?"
"You bet, I can't wait to see the crystal games" Rainbow answers excited with a single saddle bag strapped to her right side.
"I know angel's excited to watch them too." Fluttershy adds with her bags on her back and angel sitting atop her head wearing a scarf and hat.
"I can't wait to see the dazzling structure of the crystal city it never gets old" Rarity says sporting elegant winter wear and pearl white suit cases.
"Maybe to you" rainbow responds rolling her eyes.
"I can't wait to play the flugelhorns again" Pinkie says pulling said instrument out her mane and blowing a tune causing the group to share a laugh.
"Hey has any pony seen Trixie and Blackjack?" Starlight asks causing the others to shake their heads
"The train leaves in 5 minutes you think he's running late?" Twilight adds checking her pocket watch the time was 8:40
"I'll go see what's keeping them" rainbow says dropping her bags and leaping in the air to fly to the deck fort but right before she could take off a cluster of spiraling dark energy erupts in front of the group, the ponies stare in awe.
"W-what is that?" Fluttershy says shaking.
"It's pretty" Pinkie replies staring with a smile
"Well its about time you got here." Starlight says unfazed causing the others to look at her surprised then back to the cluster right as Blackjack, Trixie and Clover walk through sporting new cold weather gear. Blackjack is wearing a hoodie under his trench coat with a spade symbol on the chest and a large black backpack, Trixie is wearing her Black wizard hat and a new cloak with a white fur color matching Blackjacks collar, and Clover was wearing a black bubble coat with a white fur collar purple boots and a purple shirt with a black spade logo and a purple back pack with her sword fastened to the side of it.
"Hey it worked" Blackjack says before seeing the ponies faces " what?"
"What was that?" Twilight light says excitedly pointing to the gate as it vanishes
"A gate, a magical portal that can teleport creatures from one place to another." Trixie explains with confidence.
"But only to a place they've been to before" BlackJack adds. But before twilight could ask her thousand questions the horn of the train sounds off
"All aboard!" The conductor yells,
The group enters and thier car and take thier seats as the train began to move."So how long is the trip?" BlackJack asks curious
"About 2-3 hours." Twilight responds pulling out a scroll and quill right before sitting across from him "which mean we have plenty of time for you to explain that spell and answer a few more questions" she says with an eager wide eyed smile smile
"Of course" he responds rolling his eyes and tossing a glare at Starlight in the row across.
"hehe well I said, I'd try." She says nervously chuckling cause Blackjack to face palm.
While Twilight bombards Blackjack with her endless curiosities, Clover sits next to spike and pulls out a small box from her purple backpack. "Here ya go" she says handing him the box
"What is it?" Spike asks confused eyeing the box
"Train snacks" she says pulling out her own small box. upon smelling the box his eyes widen as he quickly opens the box and chomps on one of the pieces of jerky.
"Thank you Clover" he says cheerfully stuffing his face.
"Don't talk with your mouth full" she shays jokingly poking his cheek as she begins to eat hers.
Train, 9:38 am

Twilight has finally let blackjack off the hook and is now writing and comparing notes one several scrolls. Spike was napping on his seat with the food box on his head while Trixie, AJ, Rainbow and Pinkie were playing cards.
"Sorry mares, Full house" Trixie says smugly showing her hand
"Dang nabit!" AJ says throwing her cards to the table.
"How does she keep winning" rainbow replies in disbelief
"Oh she's cheating, I'm just playing for the reactions." Pinkie says with a giggle causing the other two mares to scowl at Trixie.
"If you can't prove it, it's not cheating." Trixie says with a smug grin as she shuffles the cards with the expertise of a casino dealer.
Crystal Empire,10:40am

The train moves through the frozen tundra of the north, Clover has her face to the window excited by this new sight. "Wow what is this stuff?" she asks staring at the beautiful blanket of white snow.
"That is snow, small bits of frozen water bunched together to form the cold white blanket your seeing now." Blackjack explains petting her but soon the sky changes to clear blue and the snow on the ground is cut in a perfect line now showing lush grass and flowers.
"Hey where'd the snow go?" Clover asks grabbing Blackjacks attention
"What the hell?" he says confused as he watches the grasslands pass by." What the hell is this!?" He yells turning to the ponies.
"That's the power of the crystal heart, It channels the Love and Joy of the crystal ponies to protect them from the frozen wastelands." Twilight explains to the still confused man.
[ Love and joy? what the fuck?] Blackjack looks back and forth between the window and twilight refusing to believe this biome change is fueled by the power of love
Soon the train begins to slow as they approach the Station. "Mares and Gentle colts welcome to the Crystal Empire." The conductor announces
Crystal Station same time
Shining Armor waits at the station along with six crystal guards. "There's the train" he says excitedly pointing to the approaching steam engine in the distance. As the train approaches the station a sudden chill hits the group, the guards began to feel tense some even beginning to shake." what...what is this" shining asks confused
"Sir, I'm detecting dark magic from the train!" a unicorn guard yells as his horn glows causing shining's eyes to widen in shock.
"Defensive positions!" Shining yells gesturing to his guards. the pegasi fly into the air loading their crossbows, the unicorns ready their spells as the earth pony guards guide the civilians to the rear of the station. The train comes to a slow halt. As Twilight and her friends exit the train they are immediately teleported behind shining and his unicorn guards.
"Shining what are you doing?!" she yells surprised from the sudden movement.
"Get Back Twily, we've detected a surge of dark magic in your train." he say projecting his barrier.
"Dark Magi...Ohhhhh.. right" Starlight says face hoofing.
"Wait...where's spike?" Shining Asks concerned noticing his brothers absense
In the Train
"Rise and shine runt" Blackjack says Slapping the lunch box off Spikes head causing the dragon to jump in surprise.
"Wha...what?" he says rapidly looking around before remembering where he is" Oh...yawn we're here already?" he says stretching.
"Yep, lets go..." he says before noticing the sudden change in the dragon's title
Spike The Brave and Glorious {Hero of the Crystal Empire}
["Huh, his title changed. that's weird"] Blackjack gaze shifts from spikes title to his mini map. "Looks like we have a greeting party." he says calmly eying the dots on his map
"Must be Shining Armor here to welcome us" Spike says happily as he walks to the train door.
"I like Parties" Clover says excited as she grabs her bag and follows with Trixie and Blackjack behind her. As they begin to exit the train Spike excitedly jogs to his brother.
"Shining it's great to see You!.." he says before being suddenly grabbed by the Unicorns magic and placed behind the Barrier. "woah what" he says as he lands behind the white stallion
"Everyone's secure, ready the spells" Shining Commands as he and the Unicorns charging their attack Spells.
"No Wait..." Twilight yells but his guard steals his attention
"Sir, it's exiting the train!" the guard yells pointing his charged horn to the train door as Blackjack and his crew exit. Upon witnessing him all the guards eyes to widen at his odd form.
"What is that?" Shining says taking a defensive stance.
"Uh....What's going on?" Trixie asks nervous as she spots the guards surrounding them.
"I. Don't. Know" Blackjack's eyes narrow as he slowly reaches for his sword.
Twilight quickly notices and quickly leaps in front of the group "Wait!" she says grabbing everyone's attention "Every creature this all a huge misunderstanding!" She says waving her hooves in the air.
"Yeah, they're not bad guys!" Rainbow adds flying in front of the Pegasus guards
"What are they then?" Shining says walking up next to her.
"That's Blackjack, The special guest I wrote you about" Twilight Explains "The dragon is his daughter Clover and the unicorn is Trixie his student."
"But Princess, He's literally oozing with dark magic" the unicorn guard says pointing to blackjack who is emitting a dark aura.

"I know" she says sternly "but he is not your enemy, he's our friend" Twilight smiles at Blackjack causing him to sigh and disable the dark aura and release his sword handle.
Shining looks to his sister then to Blackjack before taking a deep breath "Sigh... stand down."
"But Sir.." the guard responds looking at his prince with concern
"If my sister says he's no threat then I believe her" he says smiling at Twilight, The guards obey and lower their weapons and spells.
"Thank you Shining Armor" Twilight says relieved.
"No problem Twiliy" he says placing a hoof on her shoulder. " Heh, when you said keep an open mind I thought you were bringing Discord or a Mare friend." he jokes causing Twilight to punch his arm. " Sorry you three, we have a bit of a history with dark magic users" he says as bowing his head
"Don't worry about it" Blackjack says shrugging.
"Can we go to the fair now?" Clover asks impatiently
"Hehe sure, Welcome to the Crystal Empire!" Shining says gesturing to the Massive City in the Distance, the Crystal structure gleamed in the sun as the group approached. The guards salute as the walk through the gates.
"Wow and I though Canterlot was amazing " Trixie says admiring the city
"It's so Shiny" Clover says flying around the group taking in the sights. "and the crystals look yummy" she says licking her lips
"No Clover, get down here" Blackjack commands pointing down to the ground
"Aw" she says disappointed as she lands.
"Don't worry, they taste awful" Spike says patting her shoulder as they walk. The group continues walking toward the main plaza, the crystal ponies are enjoying the festivities, but then a Mare catches a glimpse at the group and gains a big bright smile. "Sigh....three...two...one."
"Oh my Celestia! It's Spike the brave and glorious!!!" a Mare yells excited catching the attention of every pony in Plaza causing them to surround the group.
"He-Hey Every pony" spike says waving nervously as the crowd begins to close in but right as they begin to surround him a barrier surrounds the group.
"That's enough ever pony. Don't crowd the guest of honor " Shining says looking to spike with a smile" you'll have plenty of time to see Spike during and after the opening ceremonies so enjoy the festival until then" soon the crowd begins to slowly disperse with a few stragglers hanging back to take pictures.
"Thanks Shining" Spike says relieved
"Any time Bro" Shining responds petting the dragons head. As the group enters the Main fair grounds in the plaza Blackjack spots the large crystal statue of Spike holding the crystal heart.
"Wow runt, your pretty famous here huh?" Blackjack says looking up at the monument
"He's not just famous, he's our hero" a crystal pony comments." He saved us all from King Sombra"
"Then again during the Equestria games" Another adds popping up from the opposite side.
"Huh...neat" [ That explains the title change] Blackjack says taken back a bit as he looks back at the statue.
"We're gonna head to the palace and prep for the opening ceremonies." Twilight says to the rest as shining armor enters the Crystal palace.
"Need any help Twilight?" AJ asks
"Well we could use a hoof with the setup" Twilight responds floating up a list from nowhere
"We're on it" Rainbow says excited
"I bet sunburst could use some help with the Borealis Spell" Starlight suggests
"And there's no party that couldn't use some pinkying" Pinkie says randomly popping up next to Twilight
"Thanks every pony, with us working together we're going to make this the best opening ceremony ever!" Twilight says joyously as the rest of the group smile "Now Blackjack if you could..." she says right before noticing that the Wildcards were gone. "Blackjack?" Twilight says confused while the rest of the groups look around for the missing trio.
Crystal Faire grounds, same time
Blackjack, Clover and Trixie walk through the areas of the fair each holding a cotton candy in their hands. "Master are you sure it was right to leave them?" Trixie asks with slight regret
"I came to enjoy a fair, not do free labor" he says taking a bite of his cotton candy "besides they seem like their used to doing things on their own." he says with a partially full mouth.
"Fair enough" Trixie says abandoning her regret and biting into her cotton candy.
"Hurry up dad I wanna play the games" Clover says excitedly tugging on his coat
"Yeah. Yeah" he says letting Clover drag him towards the Fair games
Back at the castle
The main six were aiding the various workers preparing for the grand opening, Rainbow was flying around setting up light crystals, Pinkie was hanging all manners of decorations with her party cannon while Applejack and Fluttershy were setting the tables. Twilight was supervising the whole progress keeping every pony on schedule."Alright Twi we've got the decorations up" Rainbow says high hoofing the pinkie pony.
"Tables set and ready" AJ says right before the loud clownish bang of Pinkies cannon as is blasts platters of sweets and confetti on the tables.
"Snacks freshly blasted" Pinkie adds with a salute as she grabs a cupcake
"Perfect, now all that's left is to check in on Rarity and Spike" Twilight says checking her list and walking into the castle.
Up in the royal chambers Rarity was making emergency repairs to cadences dress. "Thank you so much for this Rarity" Cadence says handing the fashionista the damaged dress.
"Of course Princess, sudden fixes like this are my specialty" The unicorn says cutting the scorched cloth from the skirt and reweaving the loose threads.
" I guess flurry's magic can still get out of control" Cadence sighs as she sits in a nearby chair "At least Spike and Shiny have it covered"
Flurry Hearts Nursery
In the cusp of the crystal crib Spike sits holding Flurry in his arms as she sleeps with her whammy resting against her." There .there little Flurry, uncle spike is here" he says gently rocking her in his arms
" Great work Spike" shining whispers joyfully as he pets his daughters mane. "Give us a few to fix things up" he says right before exiting the barrier surrounding them and pulling a wounded guard from the floor, as he exits a crew of crystal ponies enter and begin replacing the scorched furniture and helping the other Victims of Flurrys tantrum.
"That was terrifying." a unicorn says removing the destroyed cabinet.
"Good thing brave and glorious Spike was here" an earth pony states sweeping up ash and armor fragments. "There'd be twice as much collateral." The cleaning crew continues to work and within minutes the nursery is restored to it's former glory.
"Sigh...I hope Shiny come back soon." spike comments as his stomach begins to rumble"...Wonder if Blackjack has more jerky?"
Back at the Mane Six
The mares are hanging out near the crystal heart awaiting the return of twilight. Apple jack had open a jug of cider she brought along and shared it with the rest.
" Gulp...Ahhh cider really is the best" rainbow says after chugging her cup.
"Specially after working your flank off" AJ replies taking a sip.
"I wonder where Blackjack went? It's not like him to wander off like that." Fluttershy asks while angle sips from her cup
" He's never been to the Crystal empire before, I figure he's taking in the sights" AJ responds
"Well I figure he ditched us to enjoy the fair." Rainbow adds with a chuckle.
"Oh c'mon Blackjack wouldn't...…." Starlight says before her face shifts to deadpan
"Starlight? what's..." AJ's interrupted by Starlight pointing at the approaching Wildcards, Blackjack was eating a large funnel cake while holding a large stuffed bear over his shoulder and clovers backpack on his arm, while Trixie was carrying a sleeping Clover on her back and saddlebags full of other game prizes while also wearing diamond shaped novelty sunglasses while Slurping on a large crystal berry cola.
"Sup." Blackjack says casually as the mares except Rainbow and Pinkie stared at them deadpan.
"So Blackjack where ya been?" Rainbow asks with a grin
"Oh when Twilight brought up the setup I figured it was the perfect time to enjoy the fair" He answers chewing his funnel cake.
"It looks like you had fun." Pinkie says admiring their fair swag." but where's the Flugelhorns I'm sure you got one?" she asks looking all over Trixie to her annoyance.
"Clover wouldn't stop blowing it so I hid it after she fell asleep" he answers looking at the sleeping dragon.
"Aww she's so cute" Fluttershy says petting Clovers hair
"Trixie you know Twilight meant for all of us to help right?" Starlight asks a bit upset.
"I'm sorry Starlight, I tried to tell him but he just wouldn't listen" Trixie exaggerates with an innocent smile causing Starlight to roll her eyes and nudge her friend
"Oh there you are Blackjack." Twilight says walking up with her Sister in Law." We missed you during the setup."
"Sorry" he responds unremorsefully shrugging causing Twilight to sigh with a smile.
"Anyway, I'd like to introduce you to my Sister in law and the Princess of Love, Mi Amore Cadenza " She says as Cadence steps forward.
"You can just call me Cadence." she says extending her hoof " Twilights told me a lot about you"
"Nothing bad I hope" He jokes shaking her hoof
"Hehe, nothing that isn't funny." she responds with a giggle causing Blackjack to look at twilight with a raise eyebrow as she looks away whistling innocently. "I'm happy to see you're enjoying the crystal faire." Cadence joyfully adds eyeing their souvenirs.
" Yeah, her more than anyone else" Blackjack says petting clovers head with a calm smile.
"I don't mean to interrupt" Shining says approaching with flurry on his back. " But it's almost time for the ceremony."
"Where's Spike?" Twilight asks noticing the dragons absence.
"Oh he's getting fitted up." Shining responds as Cadence takes Flurry into her hooves
"fitted up?" Twilight asks confused
Crystal Square, 12:00 pm

The Masses gather around the castle with excited and eager faces. The Crystal heart spins steadily in the center under heavy guard from 8 crystal guards surrounding it. "when's it gonna start?" a small filly asks holding a purple balloon shaped like spikes head.
"Soon Dear" her mother responds.
"I heard that Spike the Brave and Glorious will have a big part to play this year" a stallion says excited before being cut off by the sound of the ceremonial flugelhorns that mute the murmuring ponies as Shining Armor walks onto the balcony.
"All rise for the Crystal Anthem" He announces as the Orchestra begins to play the tune. The crystal Ponies sing in unison as the guards salute the waving Crystal flag flapping at the top of the palace. Blackjack gets feelings of nostalgia as he witnesses the ponies singing in unison, Starlight, Clover and Trixie all rocked their heads to the tune.
["hmm Reminds me of the super bowl"] Blackjack smiles calmly as he continues to reminisce but the countdown clock always seems to distract him, "Sigh still no sign of anything?" Blackjack whispers to himself as he watches his map thinking of the imminent threat unsure of the origin or amount of danger but he's suddenly broken from his trace by the thunderous clapping of the crystal ponies.
Mares and Gentle colts I give you; "The Equestrian Princesses!" Shining announces gesturing behind him as the 4 Alicorns Walk onto the Balcony. Cadence passes Flurry to Shining as she walks front and center with the other three just behind her.
"Citizens of the Crystal Empire." Cadence announces using her royal voice. "Today we celebrate the crystal empire and its continued peace since end of Sombra's Curse. May our love and unity continue to protect us until the end of time." Blackjack roles his eyes unmoved by the speech and begins scrollibg through his UI."... And now welcome the guest of honor to close the ceremony; Spike the Brave and Glorious!" Cadences proudly announces gesturing to the sky.
All the spot lights point to the top of the castle and atop the highest level there stood the young dragon clad in armor and a cape.
All the Ponies are shocked and amazed as he confidently leaps from the castle top and plunges down to the crowd before extending his wing and gliding over them high fiving any pony who had their hoofs in the air. The Mane 6 were the most shock with all jaws dropped, Clover was in awe by the spectacle as well but Blackjack simply raised an eyebrow impressed by not only the dragons skills but his appearance. [ "Not bad runt, not bad at all"] he says looking at the Dragons Stats

["looks like titles do more than sound cool."] Blackjack grins at this discovery. while the rest watch in awe. [ "that wasn't in the game"] Blackjack glances at spike then back to his stats
"Hey those are my moves" Rainbow yells as she watches the dragon fly over the crowd doing spins before flying back up to the balcony. Upon landing on the railing he strikes an epic pose and on que fire works are shot into the air exploding in the shape of the crystal hearts, snowflakes and spikes face. The crowd is at peek excitement which served as the signal for cadence to ignite her horn activating the crystal heart. Blackjack watches as the crystal ponies bows and lines of magic flow through the ground and into the Crystal heart. The relic begins to rapidly spin and blast a magical wave across the whole city turning every creatures skin to crystalize some even having their hairstyle changed.
"Ah! what happened!" Clover yells being shook from her slumber with her hair now style in a bun and her horns and tail sporting purple ribbons.
"We've been crystalized and it make's us look even more glorious than before." Trixie answers admiring her new crystal form.
but soon all their eyes flew to blackjack, his skin now shined like bronze, his hair was slicked back and shined like obsidian and his coat held a metallic mixed with the black

[ "Huh I guess love does have power here"]. Blackjack continues to stare at the new stat buff before noticing the ponies staring at him. most were in shock, rarity stared in awe of his new glamorous style and pinkie maintained her same excited smile. " what?" He asks confused
" Blackjack darling look at yourself" Rarity say pointing to a mirror
"What are you talking abooooouuuu.." he says before seeing his new look " Wow....shiny." he says with a wide eyed chuckle as he admires at his new form.
"That's an understatement" Starlight comments while rest surround him looking him over.
"Wow and I thought rarity's outfits where shiny" Rainbow says flying around him.
"I didn't think Clover could get any cuter but I'm so glad I was wrong." Fluttershy says hugging and nuzzling the black dragoness who returns the favor.
"Just wait until I finish her new clothes, she'll be the definition of elegant" rarity adds petting Clovers head.
"I'm glad to see you all enjoying your selves." Celestia says as they exit the balcony
"I'll say that show was awesome!" Rainbow excitedly states
"Is that because Spike used your flying tricks during the show?" AJ asks with a grin
"Duh, did you see him? he totally nailed those spins" rainbow responds proudly crossing her arms.
"Speaking of, where is Spike?" Flutter asks noticing his absence.
"Oh he and Shining armor went down to the faire for a meet and greet" Twilight answers with a smile
Meanwhile
"Chug, chug, chug, chug, chug, chug, chug !" The crystal ponies chant as the two gulp down the large pitchers of Crystal brew before simultaneously slamming the mugs on the bar causing Spike to burp up green fire and the crowd goes wild.
Back at the palace
"Sounds boring." Rainbow comments
"Well with the ceremony over how about we get down there and enjoy the faire" Twilight states with a cheerful smile
"Wahoo! Flugelhorns!!!" Pinkie yells pulling two of the instrument out her mane
"Yeah!!!" Clover says taking one and they both begin playing their horns badly to Blackjacks annoyance and the rests laughter as they exit the palace to enjoy the festival in full.
Far in the northern mountain
Snow wolves and Yeti gather by the dozens in a dark cavern dimly lit by a single hole leading to the surface. The creatures eyes glowing a pale green with purple aura emitting from them as they stand mindlessly. In the center of the cavern a throne formed of black jagged crystals and sat upon it was the dark crystal king "Not enough." he says opening his eyes looking over the gathering of beasts before charging his horn with a crimson aura and firing it in a wide burst. when the light fades the Wolves are covered in black iron plate armor.

The Yeti were armored as well and given black crystal swords, axes and clubs
(basically this but black and the helmet cover everything but the mouth.)
"Find more and bring them to me." He says with a cold commanding tone.
