Prequels are not required reading but it helps. Actually, they're literally summed up in about a paragraph at the start of this story.
It has been 3 years since Twilight told the others to stop pulling pranks since they just kept backfiring. Which was why they'd never expect her to pull one now.
Cadence, and Shining are roughly 20 and Twilight is roughly 16. Also humans.
No alicorn princesses where harmed in the making of this fic. Depending on if you think <spoilers> is a princess or not. P.S. she is. At least in my heart.

I was confused on the father's name being changed especially since I remember the father's name was Night Light in the last sequel.
Unless it's because of Alt. Tags or that will be explained in the later chapters.
