No offense, but why does she have to be in court? I thought royal figures never had to testify or be prosecuted (although I am writing a story where Twilight Sparkle goes on trial for treason). Is she just there to watch, like in "The People's Court"?

Royal Court is where the rulers listen to the issues of their councils and citizens. It is not (usually) itself a trial or injunction.
So... this is a nice short story, but could definitely use a nice one-shot followup, anyway, great work and will be putting this on tracking!

I honestly enjoyed this story, it was short, simple, and sweet. The whole rape thing didn't even bother me either. If anything, I believe it added to it. Great job dude! 👍

Wrong kind of court. She has royal night court, essentially a royal duty to listen to the goings on of the kingdom, commerce, and community and act upon them. It's a pretty common aspect of royalcentric stories especially regarding MLP where the Princesses are expected to give a dang about the citizens.
