This story is a sequel to Fear of Dark

After falling from one Canterlot castle's highest towers, Twilight finds herself comatose, and trapped within her own mind. In order to escape, she has to find out what happened to her.

This story is meant to accompany a concept album I have written, you can listen to it here: https://seventhelement.bandcamp.com/album/in-her-mind

Wow. Who’d thought Twilight Sparkle would be like this.:twilightoops:

The voice lets out an exasperated sigh, “What is the last thing you remember?” Twilight pauses, she hadn’t even tried to remember.

-A horse falling down a assumed 59 feet tower tall tower and somehow survive, Yeah that's how i interpret it

Damn what an opening.

And my boy Discord is here.

Well time to go down the rabbit hole.

Your head is a bit of a mess Twilight.

Well bye Discord it was fun.

This was a very good story Element, if the story is this good the album must be good too.

Well this was pleasent

I remember reading this side of Discord. The side of Discord that actually was kind of malevolent. Just, not in a 'I hate you.' way, but more of a 'You're in my way.' kinda manner.

A sadder version of him, I feel like. A hella interesting take.

Didn't quite expect the sequel to pick up right off the last moments, but it works.
And it's so dreary seeing what ticking time has down to this collective of sad, isolated immortals.

And the immortal of chaos himself appears, perhaps only popping up due to curiosity of how Twilight, another immortal, hurt herself so badly. I imagine the emotional grinding over centuries lessened her will to be healthy.... And Faust, these descriptions are so evoking.

Interesting, Discord is dead yet present. Classic maneuver of his.
And thus begins Twilight's hunt into her fogy past.
May this pre-determined event fare well....

Ohhhhh draama! The mental battle epics up! That cursey spell did a real number on her.

Lots of factors at play, from fate to sins of the past to the complex characters of others.
Burning yourself of emotion doesn't help either.
A bit of an expository, clunky chapter, but it is needed.

The major loss of loved ones 500 years ago would cause mental suffering, but this...
This is such a freaky, Lovecraftian result.
And where'd Discord go, suddenly? Highly mysterious, too.

Damn, that's what happened. In a few minutes, all lain slain, and Shining crippled until he passed. No wonder Candance is cold-hearted now. Though it is odd for Flurry, a born alicorn to die, but such is being so young and gifted of the status.
This ancient language seems THE language of everything as known.
And what a lovely, quirky soul remnant of Discord. No popcorn for him, unfortunately.

Light guides Twilight through this, but shadow guides her out.

Gorgeous line, and almost a summary of the story (and the original before it) itself.
The clock of prophecy is ticking, and Twilight must save herself to save the future.

Of course, a party is dead pones amuse Discord. I love-hate the tongue in cheek black comedy moments.
And let's hope the universal language of reality's undercurrents and layers doesn't harm Twilight... too much.

Thus, Twilight learns, only after so long of being an immortal, of our insignificance in the cosmos, as well as life in general.
It truly is a headscratcher how magic works and why and what does it all mean when Equestria is one of nigh infinite suns and moons and planets.

Ooohhh, a touch of evil Discord, gambiting to ensure survival of his existence no matter what.
A single word to do it all, cheeky Starswirl.
Twilght's sorrow being her anchor to reality makes sense.

I have to agree with this assessment. He's strange, but in a way characteristic of whole him.

I knew the dead language would be a Chekhov's gun. They clearly represent the basic pillars of all existence.
I, too, wonder its name now.

Huh, time travel works strangely.
A bittersweet conclusion to fixing her misery-borne mess and trauma.
Twilight is forever broken, yet forever rebuilt.
There will always be cracks and scars, even when something is whole again..

Beautiful story, and a masterpiece of an album, Seventh Element, if you ever see this.
The ending echoes Fear of Dark but in a far more hopeful manner.
May Twilight choose to explore the stars this time, reformed and ready for the future that charming bastard Starswirl predicted.
