Imagine Nancy Drew with a thermonuclear capacity and you've pretty much got the idea.

T

How intense is Dash? Death has near-Rainbow experiences. Very near.

But there are rules.

Crossover with Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Inspired by Andy Price's sketchbook.

Who's the mare in the cover art?

Question. Cover art. Custom. Or found? Cause now I wanna use it.

Cool. Did you have to ask. Or was it open? I'm not judging.

9521031
Didn't ask, but it's a commission on the big pony image board so I assumed it'd be cool. Someone comes asking to take it down, I will and just stick up a link to it.

Is this a crossover with Sandman?

9523120
Yeah! Or his big sister at least.

These two have very good chemistry.

9524537
Yeah, did not expect that to come together as well as it did.

Spidey 'n' Torch is coming along just fine btw, just had this idea and needed to get it out of my system.

This doesn't come off as sad to me, a bit melancholy maybe, but not sad. Still, a good story is a good story, so...thank you for the excellent tale.

Yeah, I put there just to be one the safe side. Glad you enjoyed.

“A first.” She closed those black eyes, briefly. “There was.”

And then Desire ruined it, as is their wont.

“This’d be so much easier if you were the guy from my metal albums.” she muttered petulantly. “I couldn’t get out of here fast enough.”

"He mostly does worlds on the backs of turtles. A lot nicer than most people give him credit for."
"Turtles or tortoises?"
"Turtles. You need an infinite stack of tortoises in space, but turtles can swim."

How technically every star you saw was the light of something that had been dead before the birth of the planet.

She later doubled back and said how most of them were still burning, and most of the light hadn't even left the stars when Luna had been banished, but that wasn't the point.

In any case, fantastic crossover. Only Dash could string together enough near-death experiences to try to woo the psychopomp. But there are rules, and they're there for a reason. Thank you for a fantastic read. I find myself wondering what their final encounter will be like... and if Dash ends up crashing at Death's place for a while. You know, just to check out that floppy hat collection.

Thanks!

And then Desire ruined it, as is their wont.

"Desire gets up to mischief" is one of the reasons I've been tempted but never really sure about a sequel to this. It feels like it'd just turn into a case of everybody meets everybody.

Only Dash could string together enough near-death experiences to try to woo the psychopomp. But there are rules, and they're there for a reason.

ON THE OTHER HAND I kinda fell in love with questioning Death's reasoning. Is she interested back or is Dash just reading too much into kind gestures? Is she trying to protect this poor ignorant child from themselves or is it that she usually only meets people at The End and she likes having a friend she sees more than once? On the OTHER other hand is there really any satisfactory answer to those questions?

I find myself wondering what their final encounter will be like... and if Dash ends up crashing at Death's place for a while. You know, just to check out that floppy hat collection.

...has anyone done a Ponyfied Emperor Norton story?

"You love her. You can't not. She loves you, after all."

9913119
I haven't seen a ponified Norton, but I'd certainly like to now. Declares themselves Queen of Equestria, lives in San Germain and is locally beloved. The only question is whether that continues the Sandman crossover.

My take on it was that she does feel something, but that she is trying to protect Dash from herself. Plus rules of course. But we know that rules can be bent, and have been. I think she's even a bit iffy about having a friend, but she wants it enough to allow herself that at least.
