Cackling Moron

"Fluff" in the same way what collects under the sofa is fluff.

Sequels1

T

This story is a sequel to Mistakes were made

With the local human having ceased wandering and causing ruckus he attempts - with Twilight's ever-patient assistance - to calm down, make it up to those that he needs to make it up to and generally live his best his life.

His greatest obstacle in this, as with most things post-arrival, is his towering neurosis.

And maybe the uncomfortable fact that he can't stop growing larger and more resilient with each passing day. And that not being belligerent to the wildlife gives him sufficient time to fully contemplate the breadth of his situation as a lone and isolated example of his kind in a world entirely not his own, try as he might to just ignore it and stop his brain from eating itself with irritating doubts and fears.

Other than that he's having a whale of a time.

Yes! I can't wait for more.

The madness, it never ends.

He isn't going to get any better, is he? Please tell me he gets better. Growing hugely warped and staying that way cannot be good for you.

9524073
I mean, if you think about it "better" and "worse" are somewhat subjective.

At the least, what I can tell you is that he doesn't die.

More fam, just more.:moustache:

“Sorry about that,” Twilight said as Jack held the door for you.

You mean "held the door for her"?

He should get himself a kilt, much more adjustable than trousers.

“I’ve always thought of myself as a Pariah,” Jack said, adding: “Sorry.”

Ooh, so if he starts to turn green, we won't be the only ones freaking out. Excellent.

9524278
He'll get himself an animus speculum and a skintight bodyglove and everything will be dandy.

9524289

I don't think they make those in ogryn size.

9524297
Man, can you imagine an ogryn assassin? It's liked 2nd edition never ended.

9524318
Anything can happen if you bribe the DM right.

was there ever a proper description of what he looks like? bigger and more muscular I'd imagine but on what level? does he look like he could be a world champion body builder here on earth or is he within the realms of fantasy at this point and if so to what extent?

9524684
It is deliberately unclear. However you'd like to imagine 'bigger' will probably fit.

9524712
ah, ok. deliberately ambiguous, I can get behind that. although I cant help but imagine either just a human made of balloons to be silly or a regular human man but slowly turning into a giant.
anywho, I'm liking this saga! glad it isn't over juuust yet!

9524712

however you'd like to imagine 'bigger' will probably fit.

Ah, so he is now sporting a 1 metre pompadour now? Good to know.

9525021
Yes, but not where you'd expect.

Jack concentrated on finishing the muffin. He gave serious consideration to eating the plate as well just to really go the distance but imagined - probably correctly - that Twilight would not approve of this.

Ah, true omnivorism makes for some wonderful possibilities in visual gags.

I'm enjoying this

"I refuse,” Rarity said, turning up her nose with a ‘humph’.

DAGA KOTOWARU

Oh, great. Now Jack is stuck with John Goodman for a voice forever.

I've gotta stop

Don't stop me now!

I think what Jack need is a musical song and dance routine to endear himself with Ponyville

Yeah, by this point I'm fully convinced that he's turning into some kind of amicable ork. That's why he keeps pulling stunts like this, his newfound orkology craves adrenaline as a vital nutrient, and he's not getting it from a sedate ponish lifestyle.

9528137

Either an orc or he's turning into Wreck-It Ralph. I really expected him to attend a meeting of the other MLP villains/nuances.

I think this is a very interesting concept, like he described in the very beginning of the story it's a John Carter of Mars but more. Whatever is happening to his body is very obviously messing with his head going back to the very very beginning of the story that makes sense. Everyone starting to realize that makes the story surprisingly deep.

I don't know how you do it so well, but you keep entertaining me with these gloriously fluff-filled stories you constantly toss our direction, and I am ever excited when I see a new story by you hit my feed.

So, I thank you heartily for the tales you have spun, and hopefully will continue to spin.

So, assuming that Jack isn't actually John Goodman, what's his accent supposed to be? I'm having a really hard time hearing him as non-American. Certainly RP is out of the question.

9526060
Is this Rohan or is this Fugo?

9531724
Pretty sure it's some British accent.

so much aawwwwwwww  I loved this so much. Kudos for the great story!

9525029
The real reason Twilight wants to get pants on him.

Waffles are the best.

This is getting better with every new installment, and it looks like there may be more to come! I'm really hopi g the next story is another multi chapter one like this was!

“Oh my God I can’t believe that worked! Most of that was total bullshit. I was just making it up as I went along. Was it convincing? Did you buy it?” He asked, leaning in conspiratorially.

A wonderful muddle as always.

Starlight is shipping too hard or just having fun at his expense. Unless.

Wait, does anyone know where Cadance is? My Spidey Sense is tingling... or I'd had too much Mt.Dew again...

9532241
I think she's partly serious, partly aware of how uncomfortable it makes him and is playing it up for shits and giggles.

And Cadence is, as always, too far away to feature. Which is an oversight on my part as I actually rather like her.

Its a nice change of pace from the usual HiE. Good read. Jack seems a bit listless which makes sense with his experience but at this point it'd be nice to see some sort of goal for him to chase. After all, he is a world of magic, every kids dream. But that isn't really what this story is about anyway enough waffling. Good story was a joy to read.

Mr Shergar

Wow. First H(uman) In Equestria and now H(orse) In Equestria. He was not kidnapped, he just moved to Ponyville!

And if it worked out more serious than that? Well, no great loss, right?

Jack is really starting to lose it isn't he?

“Leaves on the line. Ha! Ahaha!”

You cheeky, magnificent bastard bitch person. I was thinking the same thing too.

:twilightoops: : Leaves?! How could leaves stop a train?

J: Oh you would be surprised... This time though it was on account of how the leaves were still attached to a huuuge tree.

Inb4 Jack forcibly removes a snow-troll or an avalanche or some such and tells Twilight the delay was caused by "the wrong kind of snow"...
:derpytongue2:

and no-one tried to sell them drugs.

Bad news for you there Jack. You know those chunks of Pink Kirin Salt that are sprinkled over those pretzels? Yeah...

“Rocks good to eat?”

“Honestly? No,

Granite is a bit gneiss though!
:pinkiehappy:

That was absolutely lovely.

I don't even know where to start. This series is such a painfully perfect exploration of the concept. It's more or less everything I ever thought about trying to say with an HiE. I love it and it means a lot to me.

Wow. An actual character in a HIE that is realistic about never coming back home. I love this story.
