This story is a sequel to The Heart of Christmas
Flash, Twilight, and their friends volunteer to look after a group of foster children on a trip to Camp Everfree. Although Flash is happy to have to opportunity to give these kids the best week of their lives, he can't help but feel worried about a certain green-haired boy who shares a past with his girlfriend. What does the week have in store for our heroes, and will Flash survive the week, or will his insecurities finally break him?

While First might have a good grasp on Timber, there has to be... oh sweet Celestia I can't believe I'm saying this... some redeeming qualities that Timber has for Twilight to have dated him...
To be honest I was kind of expecting something more akin to Percus and The Cetus (or kraken to those that only seen the movie Clash of The Titans) with Magnus like the Roman's take of Perseus with Sonumbula as Andromeda... but St. George the Dragon-slayer works.

Finally managed to finish reading this opening chapter. I like where this is going so far. Legend of Everfree only gets worse the more I think about it and leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but fanfics like yours make me feel all better.
I especially liked the story of Flash Magnus. Was the Princess he saved named Somnambula by any chance?

Also, if you've read the one story I wrote with him as the main character, you'd know that taunting Timber is NOT the stupidest thing he's ever done.
He hasn't even turned 14 yet. Of course, he's not going to be thinking well.
Okay I get that Timber was wrong to kiss Twilight against her will, but Flash, my boy, you just committed assult... or battery, depending on the state...., I get you're angery and for the most part right to be so, but your right to be angry ends at Timber's person.
To the author... yeah I don't like Timber either, I think I might actually dislike more than you, but if you look at what I am doing with my AU's answer to Legend of Everfree, well it's because I know I will take making him the villain of the story, him being a jerk a lot farther then you have.
I would say dial back the Timber as an antgonist... but maybe that's something for the next time he appears in your works.

I have no idea if Timber will appear again, but he and Flash will definitely be on better terms if he does, and that's a really big if. Again, I will explain on FlashLight Week.
Also, regarding the punch, I did go through a few other potential scenarios for this chapter as a whole, but this one just turned out the most satisfying. Also, I'm pretty sure one of my readers has been out for Timber's blood since the day that he appeared. If he had gotten to this chapter before you did, he'd probably be upset if Flash DIDN'T punch him.
Heck, when he does get to this chapter, he'd probably be wishing that I hadn't made Flash hold back.

That was so heartwarming. Everything from Flash talking to his brother to him talking with Twilight over his fears and jealousy.
I admit, Timber talks nerd like Twilight a lot, but half the time I think he is just faking it. Gotta admit, even if First Base was in the wrong to attack Timber, it must have been embarrassing for Timber to get beaten down by a kid.

Oh yeah! You don’t know how long I have wanted something like that to happen! Timber has been on my bad side since he first appeared, and I have disliked how Flash has suffered because of him, so that felt so satisfying. Honestly, if it were perfect I probably would have had Flash punch Timber in the face or beat him down, but this was close enough, and Timber was already beaten by First Base anyway. Also, let’s face it, Timber deserved that after stealing Twi’s first kiss. Hopefully she can put it out of her mind by sharing her first real kiss with Flash.

That was a fun story. I still am not a fan of Timber though, but at least Flash and Twi are putting the bad experience behind them.

Huh, ok! Couple of things to say about this chapter:
1. I'm not proud to say it, but I laughed OUT LOUD everytime one of Timber's plans to impress Twilight failed MISERABLY while Flash was being great with the kids without even trying x'D
2. First Base sassing Timber is 100% me if I was in the EqG world
3. That song choice <3 YES
4. I've kinda feel the same way about grades. I still kinda have a hard time accepting it when I get anything under 80%, but I'm working on it. I am aware that getting recognition isn't everything, and that using what you learn to do some good with it is what it's all about.
*SNIFF* OOOOOOOH that intimate scene with Twilight and Flash, THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!
Also, punching Timber for talking trash about Flash? Gloating to Timber about Twilight preferring Flash over him? I SWEAR, First represents me PERFECTLY in this story!
P.S: I know you're saving the SciFlash kiss for when you're ready, and it's fine, I respect that, but... oh, you better make it worth the wait
