Rarity wants to make Anon a dress. Anon does not want a dress.

For, ah, clarification, Rart is an on-purpose mispelling of a specific MLP:FiM character whom I can guess you can figure out the name of.

Dress and cake not bad

What's a "Rart"?

9492930
I may not know much about Rart, but I know what I like: This story.

9492995
Finally, someone who understands.

I feel like he could have gotten a decent kilt out of that if he'd played his cards right.

“Well,” said Rarkty, pouting adorably, “It’s not working.”

Considering the title, I'm really not sure if this is an error or not.

Twasn’t intentional. Thartk ye.

I didn't know I needed this. And yet, thank you! This was hilarious!!

R'atyarith

:moustache: yep! that what you get... CAKE REWARDS! Pinkie gives me gem cakes and Rarity gives me gems!
:duck: and Spikey always says yes!
:pinkiegasp: that's lewd!
 only if you don't get cake!
:moustache: and gems!
:raritywink: Spikey Wikey has a room full of fashions

Rattatiry.

The title is really deep.

First, the author removes the "i" in "Rarity", showing her selflessness and highlighting her generosity. He removes the "y", symbolically removing the question "why", which metaphorically ties into the theme of the story, in which Rarity – without any sensible reason to do so – attempts to provide an undesired dress as both an artistic endeavor and a generous one, even though it is not truly generous as it is unwanted. The author, clearly a wordsmith of highest honor by this point, then elevates this a step further, replacing the 'y' with a 't', transforming 'Rarity' into 'Rart', clearly implying that Rarity herself and 'art' are one in the same, or rather showing the deep connection between the two. By so doing they also summarize their own story perfectly; a moment where Rarity and her generous art become entangled beyond reason, beyond 'why', beyond distinction. Bravo, truly.

Or they made a typo or something and thought it was funny, I dunno.

I can neither confirm nor deny this, nor do I desire to.

But you are right.

It goes deeper when one realizes this is an artistic work about Rarity, and thus is Rart.

And this is how you make a living in art criticism, kids...

One does not make Rarity sad. But the important lesson is not to make Pinkie sad or ANGRY that you made Rarity sad.

Furthermore, the chapter title removes the letters "a" and "i", possibly to indicate that Rarity is a real pony with real feelings, not some artificial intelligence, a mimic that feels no true pain when hurt. It also removes the two vowels, which highlights the fruitlessness of trying to create while constraining oneself too much, and this is reflected in the story as Rarity is only willing to make dresses, and nothing else. This leads to frustration from all parties, just as writing without vowels would do. The "y" is left in because it is sometimes a vowel, and symbolizes the tiny spark of hope, of freedom she does allow herself, her willingness to make a dress as Anon wants it. Sometimes all you need to make a real word is a "y". Also, the chapter title removes the full stop that is present in the story title, as it is not a story in itself, but its own kind of prologue, and the lack of a period really shows that there is more to the story than one might expect. As if to say "Well, the situation seems dire, but things might just work themselves out anyway."

Fluff for the sake of fluff. Not bad, have a thumb.

DF

Good, silly fun.

Rañit sound/looks like an Indian man's name witten in Spanish.

Sällsynt.

Wryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Your ar rarted

9492930
It is the noise emitted by a marshmallow pone when she experiences a buildup of internal gasses.

“Really. I thought it was a big deal for me to have a dress, but, ah, it’s a bigger deal if I ruin our friendship over a silly dress.”

And beacause if he gets a dress he gets the cake

9498862
The cake and friendship. Next to that combo, a dress is nothing.

No means Yes! When it's about a dress.

Considering I found this in the featured box however long ago I shelved it, this is surprisingly mediocre. Then again there is usually at least one "ok" fic in the featured box at any given time. Guess I chose poorly.
