I’ve always like the idea of Sunburst writing a letter to Starlight and never sending it. But as time went on and his studys got harder, he simply didnt write it and time did the rest. This story is really cute! Good work

Plus we have seen that he doesn't read the letters from home. I wonder how many Starlight sent,(which ended up unread in that pile) before she lost all hope.

That's a good question! Unfortunately, I don't think the show will go into detail on that, but it's certainly fun to think about. Might be good fanfic material.
