Stygian Tiger

"The river tells no lies, though standing on the shore the dishonest man still hears them."

T

A few days after the raid and subsequent dissolution of the terrorist organisation only known as "The Company". Twilight has to deal with both her feelings and what comes next.

Why did they do it? How did they? Evil is a parasite, an illness and Equestria is the host. During the 14 years after the death of Princess Celestia by Nightmare Moon's hoof, things have not gone particularly well for the unicorn.

This is one of my first stories so please keep that in mind :)

Nice story, although the context of this universe is greatly needed. Is this part of an expanded universe?

Its not, though I could perhaps make it so,

I tried to make it its own self contained thing since i'm bad at keeping up the motivation to finish big stories

Very interesting and thoughtful little read, it reminded me of George Orwell's 1984 in some of its aspects, which I think is an impressive feat! Also, very good job on the ending, though, is it made as a glimpse into a very near future or is the whole story told by Twilight already resting there? Furthermore, noticed some small typos here and there, but nothing obnoxious to drive the reader away... just my editor-self unable to not notice and keep her mouth shut. Thank you for this story!

The story is being told by Twilight already resting there, that is why, if you noticed, used the word 'lying' multiple times when describing her position. Though, I like to think it is up to the reader to make that decision.

I've never really written much so its a big learning experience, and a huge compliment for my little story to remind you of George Orwell's work. :D Please keep in mind, I am British, so that may be where the spelling differences lie

Alright, well, she can be lying there either way, but I thought it's probably the latter, just wanted to make sure :twilightsheepish:

You are welcome! I'm sure you will get even better with time, all you need is more practice and the will to continue writing on!

Oh, I'm not talking about spelling differences. For example, 'lied' is definitely not past simple of 'lie' (in sense of lying on the ground), 'lay' is the correct word to use. 'Who's' is not the same as 'whose'. The first is the abbreviation of 'who is', the other indicates that something belongs to who. And there is quite a significant difference between it's and its. You mostly got that one right though :raritywink:
