The life of a mail-delivery pony definitely has its ups and downs; today is very much a down as far as Ditzy is concerned, and she can't wait to get home, put her hooves up, and forget about everything that's gone wrong for her in her life. On the way back to Ponyville, she runs into Rainbow Dash who, it seems, is also struggling with a bad day of her own.

Poor Ditzy. Sounds like she had a rough day. This was short and sweet, really liked the atmosphere and empathy you built here

A decent little scene with Ditzy, though I feel Rainbow was a bit of a weak link. I get that this is supposed to be somewhat out-of-character for her, but because of that it feels like it could have been anyone.

I am having a rotten day, and this made me smile, so thanks

love derpy! <3

Confused

That said, with the setting of Selene, Celestia’s sun, there wasn’t much to look at, anyway.

Selene was the Greek goddess of the the Moon. Making that the name of the sun instead of calling it, say, Helios is rather confusing to me.

She stopped abruptly when she felt the swelling skin around her right eye begin to throb more painfully than before; Ditzy touched it gingerly with the tip of a hoof, and winced sharply as even that slight contact sent a stinging pain lancing through her head. There would be an almighty bruise there come the morning, and it was almost impossible to see out of the eye now.

Whoever gave Ditzy a black eye...

I WILL FIND YOU.:flutterrage:

A lovely little piece you have here. Something about how you capture both the awkwardness and the tenderness of the scene without over-emphasizing either is really good. If it is not out of place for me I feel this has great potential to become a much larger story. Questions such as what was Ditzy doing out in the back-woods? (I mean besides the obvious) what is RD hiding? are a part of that potential.

Anyways, I am now eager to check out some of your other stories.

Have to wonder what specifically drove Rainbow out there.
