'ey I know Gilda is "kinda" reformed but I'm happy to see her in her "natural" form and working well with the most stubborn of ponies...Well done, Wintermist.
Gilda's impression of Applejack was spot on! I almost couldn't tell them apart.
Gilda stiffened and nodded. "I hear and obey," she said in a monotone before mechanically looking over each hat.
Applejack watched her for a few moments. "Huh." She looked up at her two hats. "Huh."
She grinned. "Well alrighty then."
Two months later, the second hat was destroyed, Applejack faced several thousand hours of community service, and Twilight Sparkle had somehow ended up covered in tattoos and sporting a pair of wings.
... I think I drifted into a different story at the end there.
In any case, I'd say this is the best AJ-Gilda story I've ever read, but I'm not sure if I've ever actually read anything else that features this particular duo. Brilliant character work for both, and a heartwarming conclusion. Thanks for a great read. You make for a fantastic Jinglemas Breezie.
