My name's PJ. I'm from New York. I write pony fics. I go to parties with bronies. I'm not good at self-introduction.

The fancy stage, the fireworks, the bragging. You've seen that story. What you haven't seen is what would happen if the Great and Powerful Trixie had a completely different background.

A rewrite or re-imagining of "Boast Busters." Based on the fact that four of my brony friends (and myself) all thought the premise of the episode would be different when we saw the first act.

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing when I first saw this episode when going into the commercial break. While I was expecting Trixie to be exposed as a fraud, I thought it would be in the way you described it. I was actually shocked a bit when during the episode,Trixie was as she said she was.

Sorry my comments are so cryptic. I'm trying to avoid spoilers. :twilightblush:

This had a much more mushy ending but it does play into my expectations for how I thought it would end. So, good job!

This is the second fanfic I've read in which a magician's true nature as an illusionist is used to expand on Trixie. the other one has Trixie disguising herself as an older mare when the reality is that she's just a young filly. I love both of these ideas. Great job!

If this was how the episode went i would have been sadly disapointed. The story is good but to me the episode is beter.

1794977 Here. Keep you expectations low and be nice, it's clearly written my a younger person. It's also unfinished. :rainbowwild:

You know what, I find it to be better then the actual episode, simply because the moral in this fanfic actually makes sense, while in the episode, I STILL have know idea how the heck the "moral" applies in real life, or even in the episode itself. Also, I'm glad you got rid of the whole Rarity, Rainbow Dash and Applejack trying to upstage Trixie scene, seeing how it was problematic to like-ability of the characters.

This was an interesting take on the episode. Kind of reminds me if the Lunaverse, that version of Trixie relies entirely on sleight-of-hoof and other tricks much like this version does.

“You really enjoyed helping out Trixie with her pretend magic, huh?” Spike said.
Twilight turned her head. “Well, every magician needs a lovely assistant.”
“I wonder when Trixie is going to get one.”
Twilight gave him a mean look, but Spike just kept laughing.

I could see that ending happening in an episode.
Btw, nice take on Boast Buster's, I liked the whole Trixie the Earth Pone.

long time since i watched that episode, but if part one accurate to the episode then really trixie was the victim and mane six were the villains, trixie just putting on a show she boastful got a lot of ego but is ultimate harmless and has no hostile intent at this point she dont know twilight, yet all the mane six get angry as if she taunting twilight, they heckle her interrupt her show, if they dont like what she doing just leave, then they end up blaming her for everything instead of two colts

loved your take but kinda feel you should have had a scene where the rest of the mane six apologize for how they treated her for being a earth pony
