I am not crying for Luna...
*Crying 😭
Damn it,,
Fucking zealots.
Very enjoyable chapter, i really liked the fighting bit, but why the 'i could have done something more' clichè its a little overused. how about him 'trying' (not successfully) to stay calm about the whole ordeal, or him thinking 'how could they almost kill somepony, i will [instert vow to do something here] to them!' For example: "how dare they attack a royal guard under such childish assumptions! they even nearly killed a guard! Why i oughta have them executed for this abhorrent, repulsive crime!"

Aye. Fanatical cunts, all of 'um.
Interesting addition though. Interested to see where this goes.
I see you threw emotional turmoil at the start of this re-write. Though something bugged me a little... are you saying there are no restaurants or pubs or clubs between the city library and the castle at all? Because normally the city library locate near one of the city's activities center, not the purely residential area. That must mean the distance between the library and the castle is very short.
*<>* wat no show of Fire ? That most probably would have gone Very differently ...

To be honest, this reaction (I could've done something more) is so commonplace it is a clichè for a reason. I had similar reactions a couple of times, although not in such a situation. So, while it may be overused, it's still a logical reaction to harmful events when one could (or thought they could) prevent bad things.

The library used to be in the Castle of Canterlot because of the rarity of books, and then it was moved away but not too far. As for pubs and such, the library was placed in the more quiet part of town. Among schools and colleges, I suppose. Those aren't the quietest, but definitely more quiet than any restaurant or pub.

He still has to learn more about his fire and how to apply it.
Attempt of murder of the Lunar Princess. I hope for a public Execution or at least life long dungeon vacation
Those few who didn't believe in rumors are the MVPs of this story, also, damn zealots, those four ponies sound less like ponies who believe in Celestia and want to protect Equestria more like cultists, I mean, "the Sacred Light" that just screams a cultist group!

I don't care what cause these ponies followed, but the moment one of them stabbed a guard and attempted to run away from an attempt at regicide was the moment that their quote-on-quote goals to protect Equestria and Celestia became null, their punishment could of became lighter if they hadn't stabbed a guard and try to run, heck, if they were one of the rumor spreaders or even just a random Celestia-fan, the situation would of went different, nope, they were just a buncha idiots.
That and one of future antagonists is a possible cultist group
Mask and hoods for heros for the population? Nope!
Simply a excuse for murder.
Celestia is under a spell? Is she so weak? Are there no counterspells?!
Idiots wish faulty logic and poorly prepared lies.

It's something people do all the time, they start with a basic assumption and treat it as a fact and so you wind up with situations like "Luna is evil and Celestia is accepting her therefore Celestia must be under her control" "if Celestia isn't under her control then Luna can't be evil so that can't be true."
