Legacy55

I like the story, but... couldn't she have just lit up her horn?

:rainbowhuh: This was... interesting, to say the least. This wasn't a trollfic, was it? Though I've been following your work for a while now and think you're above that. But I'm not familiar of too many ponyfics like this one, in the premise of a pony going batshit-insane, due to being isolated and alone (though I did read one last night, but was more serious with the basis of it than anything else). Especially my FAVORITE pony. :fluttershysad: But it does sound like something that'd happen to Twi, if she's too busy reading while walking, to notice what's around her! :rainbowlaugh: Anyway, interesting job! But like 1038851 said, couldn't Twi have used her horn to project a light, like in A Royal Wedding? Even if know that wouldn't have been as funny. :trollestia:

I liked it. I actually forgot about Twilight lighting up her horn while reading this, mostly because I wanted to see what happened. Also, I've noticed Twilight seems to forget a few of her abilities in the show anyway, like the fact that she can teleport short distances... Like over the small canyon in the episode where they introduced Pinkie's Pinkie Sense.

I did see this as one of the endings coming (the other I thought was going to be of Discord trolling her), but I still loved the ending.

I've read troll fics, this is definitely not a troll fic.

This proves my theory that closets are dangerous and evil. I'm going to chop the one in my room into pieces right now :pinkiecrazy:

Sorry, my sincerest apologies. :pinkiesad2: I'm just not familiar with constitutes a troll fic per se, even though I know it'd likely parody something that's frequently overdone and happens a bit, and I wasn't sure if the whole "ponies going insane cause they're alone" thing's been done a bit, be it on this site or in general. I actually read something last night with the same theme and ponies (as I know just doesn't have to be one fandom), though was a lot more serious and for real (in my faves on my page), as well as maybe a few other things in my time on here. And know most of Legacy55's fics have been more serious, even if quite a few DO have the comedy tag on them, even if I'm not sure if some were as comedic as others. But anyway, this was an interesting take on the subject, even if it was somewhat silly around the end, after revealing what happened to Twilight.

Well that was quite good. A nice short, comedic story. Good job!

Yeah, troll fics are usually something that is overdone or something that makes no sense what so ever; however, they usually have very little in the ways of grammar and the technical side of writing. Good examples are AN BEAUTIFUL MASTERCLASS IS THIS, Twi-cakes (which was recently taken off, so I'll just tell you it was a Cupcakes clone with Jeff the Killer of Creepy Pasta fame), ten pounds of fetus and mouthwash. The easiest way of telling it's a troll fic is reading it and noticing how many mistakes that are obviously intentional there are. (This has been a public service announcement from your friendly neigh-borhood Muleicious) :pinkiehappy:

i was gone for ten minutes! priceless!!!!!!!:rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh::rainbowlaugh:

This is actually being investigated, the concept of being isolated. We are very social creatures, and we have a lot of complicated senses. Sensory deprivation over extended periods of time, or even just what feels like an extended period of time, can have very intense and adverse effects on someone's mind. Prisoners that have been placed in isolation have reported feeling as though they were locked up for years when they had only been in the isolated cell for maybe a week. Experiments and tests have even resulted in people going insane from extended periods of absolute sensory deprivation. No sound, no light, nothing to help them keep themselves grounded in reality. They lose touch, become unhinged, and generally lose themselves. They start hearing voices and feeling phantom touches by way of their imagination becoming more real than the tiny room they're locked in. Sort of their mind's way of compensating for what they're going through, and it often times winds up making them lose track of what's reality and what's just all in their heads.

Given that Twilight's already prone to losing her mind, the fact that she only had a single terrifying sound to listen to in the absolute darkness, her own heartbeat, it doesn't surprise me that she was really, really quick to start losing her marbles. :facehoof:

Honestly, I dunno if I'd classify this as a comedy fic. The rather serious and perhaps even morbid feel of the majority of the fic, having Twilight losing herself and going insane, falling prey to her own sensory deprivation, I dunno....the slight bit of lulz when she was let out of the closet didn't really counter what the fic had touched on beforehoof. :unsuresweetie: Definitely not for me, anyways.

It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
