Time for a Get Together

Starlight Glimmer paces outside Twilight Sparkle’s castle. Moments later, a pleasant sight arrives that makes Starlight happy. It was the kind human girl, Megan Williams, sporting her well known pink and blue outfit.

“Megan!” Starlight shouted with glee.

“Hi, Starlight Glimmer.” Megan replied as she and Starlight embraced in a hug. “It’s good to see you again. Where are the Mane Six?”

Starlight thought about it for a moment. “Let’s see. Twilight is with Celestia and Luna on princess business, Pinkie Pie is babysitting Baby Flurry Heart, Applejack is helping out her family, Rainbow Dash is with the Wonderbolts, Rarity is attending an event at her Manehattan store, and Fluttershy is helping Dr. Fauna at Sweet Feathers Sanctuary.”

“Oh. That’s why Fluttershy was in a hurry after dropping me off.”

“I believe so. At least you’re with me today.”

The two figures walk through Ponyville, until they stop at what looks like a covered wagon.

“Why are we here?” Megan asked.

“A friend of mine lives here.” Starlight answered.

Soon, a blue pony wearing a cape and pointed hat comes out of the wagon and greeted the travelers. “Starlight. How are you doing? I see you brought miss Megan Williams with you.”

“That’s right. She’s here for a visit”. Starlight replied as she turns to Megan. “Megan, this is my friend, Trixie Lulamoon.”

Megan was surprised. “Trixie Lulamoon? As in the Great and Powerful Trixie?”

Trixie turned her attention to Megan. “So, you heard of me. Huh, Megan?”

“Many ponies here In Ponyville told me about you. Especially Twilight.”

“I’m glad to see that even a being like you recognizes my talent.”

Trixie stepped out of her wagon. “All set, Starlight?”

“Ready, Trixie.” Starlight replied. “I hope you don’t mind Megan here tagging along.”

“Not at all. The more, the merrier. I always say.”

Soon, Starlight, Trixie, and Megan traveled outside Ponyville. During the trip, Megan wonders about their traveling. “Where are we going, you guys?”

“To a very special place, Megan.” Starlight answered. She points to a hole filled hill surrounded by a beautiful flower patch. “There!”

“What is this?” Megan asked.

“The home of the changelings.” Trixie answered.

“That’s right. The changelings are now kind creatures. No longer the creepy black creatures they used to be.”

“You’re right, Megan.” Starlight happily chirped. “Ever since Thorax became their leader, the changelings have changed their ways for the better.”

As the travelers come closer to the changelings’ lair, they were showered by confetti and balloons.

“Were they expecting us?” Megan blurted.

“Not quite.” Trixie responded. “This is magic conjured by another friend. If you can call him a friend.”

Suddenly, a strange creature comprising of different body parts appeared, and addressing the trio. “Come on, Trixie. I thought I’d liven up your arrival.”

Megan recognizes the creature. “Discord! This is an unexpected surprise.”

“Hello, miss Megan.” Discord greeted. “What brings you to Equestria?”

“Starlight Glimmer invited me to spend time with her. And, she and Trixie let me come here to the changelings’ lair.”

“Good reason.” Discord replied as he looks at the hive. “I like what Thorax did with this place.”

Suddenly, another human girl with blond pig tails and wearing a white shirt and pink bib overalls comes out to greet the travelers. “Hi, everyone. Especially you, Megan.”

Megan recognizes the kid. “Molly! How did YOU get here?”

But, the person who looks like Megan’s sister transforms into her real self. A light blue changeling. “Fooled you good. Didn’t I, Megan?”

Megan’s eyes widened as she sees the changeling. “Ocellus! You trickster.” She giggled as she hugged Ocellus. “That’s a great disguise.”

“Thanks. We changelings are tricky that way.”

Thorax, leader of the changelings, steps out, sees the group, and greeted them. “Starlight, Trixie, Discord. Nice to see you three.”

“Hello, Thorax.” Discord greeted. “Surprised to see us?”

“Pleasantly surprised.”

“We decided to pay you a visit.” Starlight said.

“And,” Trixie added, “we brought an extra guest.”

Thorax saw Megan with the group, and politely greeted her. “Hello, Megan. I heard many things about you from Starlight Glimmer over there.”

“Nice to meet you, Thorax.” Megan replied. “How’s life for the leader of the changelings?”

“Pretty good, actually. Come on in, my friends.”

The four friends followed Thorax into the hive. Starlight got the shivers.

“This place is still a little creepy.” Starlight admitted.

“Don’t worry, Starlight.” Thorax comforted. “We’ll try to make this place more cheery.”

Trixie turned to Megan. “What do you think of this place, my friend?”

“A little weird.” Megan answered. “But, it’s not bad.”

“Megan,” Thorax wondered, “does it make you feel uneasy being with the four of us?”

“Uneasy?” Megan yelped. “What do you mean?”

“Face it. Starlight, Trixie, Discord, and I did things we’re not proud of. For instance, me and the changelings served Queen Chrysalis. And, we made life miserable for the Mane Six, The royal family of the Crystal Empire, and the Princesses.”

“He’s right.” Discord added. “I used my powers of chaos to turn the Mane Six against each other. In fact I manipulated them to be the opposite of what their Elements of Harmony represent.”

Trixie felt sad too. “I was a bad pony too. I tried to upstage Twilight Sparkle and her friends. I even try to ban Twilight from Ponyville.”

Starlight confessed her guilt. “I tried to disrupt time so the Mane Six wouldn’t meet each other.”

Megan saw the four sad faces, and wanted to help them. “Starlight. Trixie. Discord. Thorax. STOP!”

Their eyes widened as Megan spoke to them. “Look, you guys. It’s true you each did rotten things. But, you made up for them, and are doing better. Starlight, you turned your life around. And, became Twilight’s own student.”

“That’s right.” Starlight replied. “I’m still learning. And, learning good.”

Megan turned to the magic pony. “Trixie, because you became a good pony, you and Starlight are now friends.”

“How true.” Trixie responded. “We’re getting along fine.”

Megan looked at the master of chaos. “Discord, you gave up your former mischief life. And, became a good friend to Fluttershy. Right?”

Discord agreed. “You’re right, Megan. Thanks for reminding me.”

“And finally,” Megan finished, “Thorax. You and your changelings did good since Queen Chrysalis is out of the picture.”

Thorax was impressed with her speech. “Yes. And, the four of us did well in saving Twilight and her friends from that wicked queen.”

“So, I think you four will do well in the future. If you keep up the good work.”

The four friends thanked Megan for the pep talk. But, as the five kind figures spent time with each other, a little red bird looked in through a window. Then, flew away. As soon as it was far enough away, the bird transformed into it’s real form, Queen Chrysalis. She looks at the hive from far away, and is very upset.

“I’m not sure how you defeated the likes of Hydia and the Witch Sisters, Megan Williams,” Chrysalis hissed to herself, “but against me, you wouldn’t stand a chance. Even with the legendary Rainbow of Light helping you.”

Chrysalis soon flew away to parts unknown.

I thought it would be fun for Megan, the kind, adventurous girl from the original “My Little Pony” cartoons to Interact with characters from “Friendship is Magic”

Did you draw the cover art yourself?

Yes I did. Pretty good. Isn’t it? And, I did the cover art on “Trading Memories” as well. That’s my first story.

I know I'm late on this, but I really did wish Megan appeared in the FiM series. To this day, I have always seen this as a missed opportunity. However, I feel that the real reason why she didn't end up was probably because there was no way to fit her in, but it could have also been due to the fact that Lauren Faust was against having human characters in the show even though they could have put her in at any time after she left. If G4 was to be based on the concept of G1, it would only make sense to have someone who was the face of that. There was that claimed character in the Rollercoaster of Friendship, but the writers explained that it was more of an Easter Egg and wasn't really meant to be here, though I do feel the shirt and overalls did look better on that supposed character than it did on Megan herself who I wished kept her original look from Rescue at Midnight Castle. Nonetheless, I did do a blog post on what her introduction would have been if she was to be in it. I still wish when they had Twilight Sparkle enter the dimension that brought her into G1, they didn't give Megan a snub by having her miss out, and reading that in Volume 3 of that magna, plus it just didn't feel the same with her not being there not to mention making much of the rest of the G1 ponies feeling useless and just tagging along with her while replacing the Twilight from that dimension by landing on her. There is still chance she can interact with them assuming that she will appear in the crossover, but that might not be until part 3, which doesn't come out until after 12/29. Overall, this fanfic was interesting, though I'm surprised that Sunset Shimmer and Tempest Shadow aren't there, though they aren't really from the series despite also being reformed villains along with Princess Luna, but some claimed she was never really a villain to start with and that Nightmare Moon was more than just a manifestation that possessed her.
