What do you get when you get when you combine Lauren Faust’s MLP:FiM and David Mitton’s TUGS? I’m about to answer that.
Bear in mind this is my first story to post on this site, or on the Internet in general. What’s more, I dare say this is the first story on this site that will feature TUGS. That being said, if anyone spots any grammar errors of any kind, feedback will be greatly appreciated.

You'd think a cult series like this would have a few more attempts to mix the two.
I mean, many of the names sound as if they come from MLP. (I had to change a few though. Ten Cent became Ten Bits and Big Mac, for obvious reasons, I changed to Big Jock.)
There is another crossover of these stories on FanFiction.net MLP Bigg City Adventure which is were I got the idea of the wagon ways instead of waterways. (That story is not very good. Especially since the person writing it seemed to have no idea what a paragraph is.)

Yes. It does seem rather obvious. Although I made Sunshine a Unicorn.
The only other names I changed off the top of my head are Lillie Lightship changed to Lillie Lampard who is keeper of the Founder Rocks Lighthouse (named after one of the most severe hoof diseases, severe enough to be fatal.)
Izzy Gomez is changed to a Minotaur called Izzy Bulmer.
The Fire Tug I named Jupiter after the fire engine in Fireman Sam and I gave him two co-worker Fire Ponies named Vesta and Blazing Saddles.

If so I'd be guilty of it. It just make a certain level of sense that Top Hat would be a Unicorn.
And if I recall MLP Bigg City Adventure Top Hat was made to be from a Canterlot family that fell on hard times.
I didn't want to copy that so I had it in mine that Top Hat and Rarity are childhood friends as I made Top Hat's father and Rarity's mother friends from their school days.

Just because I said young and/or younger doesn’t necessarily suggest they’re school age. And besides, this is the world of Equestria; does it really matter?
I remember Tugs from when I was little, I still have the videos somewhere in the attic. The Tugboats names even sound like ponies, I am eagerly looking forward to more.
