I'm not someone who downvoted (and it'd be pure hypocrisy if I did, considering what I'm about to say), but if I can forward a hypothesis, it's probably because of the picture used for the story. It's not because their is any stigma towards the artist, or because people dislike Dash Booty, it's because - and I'm going to put this as precariously as I can - it is tad... clickbaity. Now, now, it's not out of the ordinary for clopfics to have cropped porn or straight up questionable covers, it's just that, for some reason, this is very eye catching. Now, this had the good effect of getting more people to click it, which in turn made more people read, and more people upvote it. It also had the unintended effect of making people leave downvotes also. It's not necessarily anything to do with the content or quality of writing. It's just the cover art. (Which I adore btw. I love Maarthul.)
It's unavoidable. It's clop. Some people downvote on that merit alone.
Edit: to add fuel to my hypothesis, another fic got featured with cropped porn, but is sitting on less dislikes (with much more controversial content) however, the cover art is simply not as eye catching.)

I mean, I'd consider that to be a fair point, but...I'm kinda an established author on this site. For at least 4 or 5 of my past publications, all of which have lovely cover art, I've made front page with the story. I'm not exactly someone posting low grade junk (not saying you said that either, just saying).
Me personally? Maybe no one likes Dash on a Tuesday. Maybe I should've waited till Wednesday. Or everyone wants Dash with a female partner and not a male. IDK. Not my first story to hardly get a good reaction.

Another thoroughly enjoyable romp from you Steel Quill. As someone who enjoys backsides quite a bit I can’t help but say my praise is biased butt nonetheless I was very pleased by reading the story. I wish my own undertakings, clop, which I have on nearly completed, or those are not, see somewhere close in quality to the high bar you and others on the site.

Meh, hater gonna hate, as they say, and considering that was the only comment that wasn't "This was great" "Hawt" or "Moar," (compared to stories that aren't particularly well written, but well written enough to be popular, and people who don't like it actually comment) implies to me its just people who saw it was clop, and disliked it.
This was interesting or sure. I honestly really hope we get to see one with Rarity and Spike. I think that would be super interesting and great to see some Sparity action after that whole holiday episode. I can so see after Rarity's change it causes Spike to change into a male with proportions to be able to please his mate, triggering a greed/lust growth. Have all those bottled up feelings come out and get the two of them together. It would also be funny to have a stud Spike going around as well. He would lose his shit if someone else ends up with Rarity that is for sure.

Not to throw the cat out of the bag too early, but I was working on a Rarity/Spike story actually. It's taking some work to capture things the right way I want to though. That's why this story got published first. All in good time!

Great I am honestly SUPER happy to hear that. Spike is my fav character and seeing the Sparity relationship is what got me into MLP in the first place. So having a great writer like you do something in that area makes me very happy. I hope it does well enough that you write more stories with Spike as the lead male character. Since he fits so well with many of the female characters in the show.

Oh boy, where do i even begin with this one? Just as amazing and fun as the previous ones thats for sure. I swear it just keeps getting better with every new instalment. If this continues i cant imagine how things are gonna play out for the next lady in line, maybe 4 guys? no that would be crazy, i can only imagine Pinkie being able to take on that many. Also im glad you chose to pair up Dash with male partners, theres more than enough FxF stuff on her.

I'll admit, I've thought to do some more works that lean more into romance than just straight away porn. I have an idea or two involving such things. I haven't thought to do such a thing with Twilight, but, nothing is impossible in the realm of fiction.

How about focusing on romance fictions with other characters like Twilight or Rarity with pony oc's all as anthros or hell even maybe a sequel where Fleur and Feather date more often and Fiery gets jealous and tries to screw their relationship.
I'm all up for porn fiction like this but I'm not really a fan of the long story and multiple tags and many males on a female. Not to mention, in my opinion, they're way too long! The concept of a sexy Rainbiw Dash here is fine but it's a bit too complicated and takes forever and feels out of place in some areas.
I feel like you should be writing more anthro romance fictions rather than this kind of stuff as I feel like you are more better in that category than this. Keep that in mind
9332936 I mean, you're right; that's how I made my mark in the beginning was with romantic fics, not just straight away "for fun" porn shots. I used to prefer doing them, but it felt like for a period of time, interest in that style of writing fell off. So I kinda reinvented my writing starting at Boost of Confidence, which took off really well. But at the same time, yeah, I still feel the appeal of making fics like Worth a Thousand Words. There's plenty of characters I could make that work with.
