When Pinkie's grandma passes away, she needs somepony to be understanding and to sympathise with her. Even the Element of Laughter cries from time to time.
A/N: Some time ago I read some short fics about AJ finding out about her parents' death. Their lack of presence in the show (and I hope it stays this way) can easily be translated as them being gone. Instead of repeating the concept, I used it as a background for writing this short story where Pinkie needs a crying shoulder, and AJ seemed to me like an obvious choice.

The fight for improving my writing never stops. Here's my first attempt at sad/slice of life tags.
As always, I appreciate any kind of feedback, especially the negative one (if it is constructive criticism, of course).
The cover art is mine as well, and let's just say that Pinkie's head isn't too small by accident, but it's a metaphorical representation of the characters' feelings and their roles in the story. Yeah, that sounds about right.

Seriously though, more than a few manly tears were shed here. At first I thought it was going to be a PinkieJack ship (and I despise pairings between the mane 6), but I looked at the tags and saw there was no romance tag. That was enough motivation for me to read this.

Very touching. I love how you mixed Applejack's memories within the story. It made the feels that much more, um feelier.

I like this and I can relate to this, Pinkie Pie is my favorite pony out of the mane six and last November my grandmother on my mother's side of the family passed away, she had been sick for some time and we all knew it was coming but it didn't make it any eaiser when it happened.
We viewed it as for the best since she had been deteorating before hand but the loss was still there. I know it's never easy to lose someone you were close to and that as time moves on you come to cherish all those memories you have of that special person but the most important to remember is to not let it get you down and that you move on in your life like that someone would want you to.
And I like how you gave Applejack something to connect to Pinkie Pie with and how you worked that into your story, you did a great job here.

It's a touching story. Very sad...and I must say, you did well portraying a sad Pinkie. I liked how AJ noticed Pinkies room being all neat and relating that to Party of One.
