I have no idea where those thumbs down are from, this seems like the start to a very sweet story. The prose is a little thick for my taste (I tend to prefer snappy writing) but there's nothing wrong with it.

Thanks for the comment! I agree, my writing does tend to me a bit dense at the beginnings of my stories (it's something I'm trying to work on), but I promise there's actual dialogue in the following chapters
The detail seems a bit overboard in the beginning, but not bad necessarily. Have a fave and a thumb, since I have no idea where these down-thumbs came from. Keep it up, because I'm not patient

I like where this is going. I like these kind of calm sweet stories, but then I am helpless romantic. Two years is kind of long for a marriage proposal though. Maybe its cultural.

Actually, funny you should mention that. This is only the first installment of a series, the next section of which will indeed be set during the wedding, though the focus will be on a couple other than Fluttermac.

The issue with Spike/Rarity is not to do with it being interspecies. It is that he is a child and she is an adult.

Lovely chapter. I love how Fluttershy comforted Big Mac in her quiet way and of course Big Mac's stampede warmed my heart. That train scene made me chuckle a bit.
Leave it to the nicest ponies in Equestria to endure that! Love Fluttershy putting in that much effort to make sure their big night went perfect-though it didn't end perfect! Enjoyed the chapter.
