A Bedtime Story

Phoenix Bright always has a hard time settling down to sleep.

Now that it is bedtime and her mother comes to tuck her in, she
asks her mother to tell her a story.

So Sunset tells her a story about the magical land of Equestria!

Now that is a Bucking Great Story, please who is the father and will Princess Celestia ever come over and see her 'Daughter' Sunset and her 'Granddaughter' Phoenix, I bet she would be VERY Happy to meet her.

The father is Flash Sentry (in the world this takes place, Sunset got pregnant right before Equestria Girls was set to happen), He tried to do the american thing and marry her, but she wanted nothing to do with him until they graduated. Later she realised she was being selfish and attempted to reconcile with him, but by then he had started a new family and she didn't want to screw that up. That's why he's refered as "disappeared" until Phoenix is old enough to understand.

As for meeting Celestia again, I've imagined it like once Phoenix is 17, she'll try and suss out whether her mother's stories were real or not and finds the portal. But she gets there right as it's set to close so she's forced to spend the next 3 years in ponyland (with the help of Celestia, ofcourse). And once the portal opens again Sunset'll come through and they'll have a great meetup!
