Prologue

Chapter 1: Beginning of a tale

In the magical land of Equestria, there lived many different species. From dragons, to changelings, to parrots, to all sorts of creatures. But the primary species and dominant life form on this planet, was ponies, there were for different kinds of ponies.

The first and the ones with the most numbers, were the earth ponies, these ponies cared for the earth and grew the food. That’s to say, not all ponies who do that are Earth Ponies, but the majority are.

The next are the Pegasi, they are the ones who are the elite of the military forces and even have their own division of the military forces in the Wonderbolts. Who are mostly known for their stunt work, but they are the elite of the elite for a reason. The pegasi's main job though, Is controlling the weather, and dealing with wild weather that might come from other parts of the country and from the dark and foreboding Everfree Forest. There are also a subrace of Pegasi called Thestrals/Batponies who are carnivorous, and are protective of their friends and loved ones to the point they would die to defend them. And were once the primary guards at night for their excellent senses. These ponies are rare though, since Princess Luna had been banished to the moon. But that is a story for later.

Then there are the unicorns. They are powerful beings of magic, some can only do the most basic of spells like levitation, but there are others who primary use is magic. Those who are so good in magic, they need to go to special schools to learn to control it.

And the fourth and final species of pony that are known as Alicorns. And these ponies are a combination of the three previous races. And are almost considered gods in Equestria and are the primary rulers of the land. There have only existed in Equestria at this time, three Alicorns. As you have to be exceedingly powerful in a kind of magic and do a great deed to prove your capable and responsible. But the one thing to know about Alicorns, you don’t have to be Unicorns to become one as Princess Cadance, the princess of love was a Pegasus when she became one.

Now why would you need to know all this? Its simple, all these species have different lifestyles. And some look down upon the others, but in the end they are all sharing the same world and land. There will be a day where these four races will have to stand united, stand against a evil that not just one can take on, but members from all four tribes. And just because the Unicorns and Alicorns are the powerful ones in magic, doesn’t mean that a pegasus or earth pony could wield a magic even stronger then anything a unicorn or alicorn could wield as well…and that is love.

Now our story begins, in the house of a pony named Sky Shine, a pegasus mare. Who found out bad news, in some cases some would find this bad news. But in her position, she now carries a pony that could shape the very world itself.

Today we would find a young pegasus mare, whos blue coat was shining in the light of Celestias sun, her lithe frame filling the small bathroom she was in. One wing to her muzzle in fear and the other folded to her side. One thing that was unique about her? She didn’t have a cutie mark, shed never found her special talent. And was kind of resolved at this point in not getting one. Now though? A cutie mark would be far from the front of her mind, and maybe for the forseeable future. She wouldn’t be thinking of it again.

Sky Shine would look at the stick in her hoof with tears in her eyes. While it might not look like much to a outside observer. It was what was showing on this stick that made her have tears in her eyes. It had a + on it, meaning that it was positive. But what she was feeling right now, was not positive emotions. But fear, trepidation, and worry. As what this sticks positive meant? Meant that she was with foal now, at the age of seventeen, she was pregnant.

And now as she sat and stared at the stick. She wondered what she should do. She lived on her own right now as in Equestria you could live on your own once you were sixteen. She had never known her parents as she was dumped at a orphanage when she was a foal. And as soon as she was sixteen she left the orphanage without looking back. How she wished she had a orphanage to go to, even if the one she was in was bucking useless.

Then, there was a knock on the door as the melodic voice came through, "Sky Shine? Is everything okay in there? Whats the stick stay?" And as Sky would throw the stick away, shed go to open the door. There in front of her stood a pink pony. She had been her best friend for years when they were both pegasi, now though. What stood in front of her was a Alicorn, one whod helped her get out on her own. It being Princess Cadance, who saw the tears in her eyes now and her heart sunk, "Oh Sky. Im so sorry about this. We'll get through this though. Does Ink Blot know?" Shed ask, meaning Ink Blot the colt that Sky was seeing at the time.

She would shake her head at this saying, "No, he doesn’t know that I might be pregnant. And I'm not sure I should tell him. He doesn't seem the the kind of pony to be tied down with a foal."

Cadence would look at her friend sadly, as she said, "If he doesn't. Then I'll take you to Canterlot. And find you a home you can raise your foal in."

Skyshine would sigh gently as she moved to Cadance and hugged her tightly as she finally let the tears flow, “I’m scared, Cadance I'm not ready to be a mom. Let alone a single mother.” She said and as she felt the wings of her friend hug her, she would look up.

“Sky, everything will be okay. I’ll help you raise him or her. You won't be alone in this. But you should tell Ink at least and if he doesn’t want to raise the foal. Then buck him. It's his loss.” She said.

Skyshine nodded, "Let's go tell him then." And with that, they would leave to go to Ink Blots house
